By the way, all the steps are provided in the link under Field of View section.
This is incorrect. Sure it removes the black bars but everything looks too wide/fat. The correct value for 3840x1080 and 5120x1440 is 3555 but that still shows the black bars unfortunately.
Odd, didn't look stretched out to me and I was looking for that and it is pretty obvious to notice. Perhaps something is off in the way you did it.
In addition, both 3840x1080 and 5120x1440 have the same aspect ratio, size is independent of ratios, so after that, the only thing your machine needs is the proper resolution. Worked fine for me and it seems to have worked fine for others. Note the Link: that is where I got all my info. Case in point, when doing the same tweak to AC Ubisoft games, both 3840 and 5120 use the same hex values but the resolution changes depending on what you set it to.
3555 is the correct formula
21:9 = 2333
32:9 = 3555
