Why bother?

Why bothering buying and playing this game when it's not finished and won't get a sequel?

This game is very deeply layered, youve had to play the first 2 games to get all of it. On the top layer, it still requires you to play Human Revolution, this is a sequel, this doesnt need any explanation. Its is supposed to finish with the 3rd game, and connect to the first 2 games, which might take a couple of years. Google top games of 2019 and still this is better and has more content than the top 5 combined. Not 2018, they had some pretty good ones

So if your plan is to play something cyberpunk before C2077 and thats the only reason you thought of deus ex, play HR then MD, C2077 exists because of deusex, or dont bother at all, the game is coming out in a few months anyway.

No content was cut.

Square-enix had nothing to do with the micromemes. It was Eidos.

Eidos is not a tiny indie dev company of 8 guys in a basement, but a gigantic mega corporation that acts as the western half of SE, yet is allowed to operate largely on its own, with its own business culture.

Square-enix had no obligations to 'back up' Eidos. Eidos manages things like DX, Tomb raider, and so on. SE manages final fantasy. When asked, the CEO of SE had no idea how people could not understand this, or where they got the idea that Eidos is a tiny little poor development studio.

SE managed the japanese release of this game, which was delayed for a very, very, very long time. It did not feature AUGMENT YOUR MEME ORDER!! or the silly videos of a guy in cell with a bag over his head, or the terrible twitter campaign. Such things are poor marketing in japan.

They have NOT benched 'the game.' The CEOs of both companies telling people this for years still isn't good enough to defeat a dumb youtube video by Jim Sterling. Amazing.

Eidos, and all its assets, are working on a license to print money. It's called 'the exclusive right to make marvel avengers videogames.' I don't know if you've heard of the avengers, or marvel. They're kinda underground, after all. Hardly worth mentioning in the same breath as deus ex.

HR took 5 years to make, and while it was being made, no one was allowed to know it was being made. MD took another 5 years to make, and while it was being made, no one was allowed to know it was being made. Elias, the voice of Adam, had to lie or excuse himself for half a decade. For all we know, and almost certainly, without a doubt, another game is being made, and has been worked on since this one launched, but the game we'll eventually get WILL NOT BE ANYWHERE NEAR what MD is, because people rejected it. Worse, they didn't understand it, or couldn't understand it. Few people even played 50% of the 'main' content, aka, the 'quests,' or talked to characters. They followed quest arrows and complained that the campaign was 'cut in half waah.'

Square-enix are HEAVILY invested in the success of DX, as are Eidos. This is because neither company has a globally reaching FPS franchise. DX, the Adam DX, is the Square-enix answer to call of duty. There's a reason Adam and his gear features in every single Eidos and SE game made since he was first created. There's also a reason you find silly things like Sonic cameos in MD. Deus ex is VERY popular, and Adam Jensen is a worldwide recognized figure on par with many final fantasy characters.

I hope this answers some questions.

Just when I thought I had seen it all. I have refrained on other silly posts that I have discovered tonight, but this wins the award for most pointless post. I mean for gods sake. You realise most games are stand alone and do not get sequels right. Even then a lot of games only get sequels if the original sells well.

Of all the totally insignificant things to complain about.....I seriously hope you are trolling and I just got suckered in....

The game does lack a third act. I'm pretty sure my old teacher would have given me an F, if I had ever handed in an unfinished story.

Don't get me wrong, it's well written and the game is fun to play.. but it's unfinished and has these idiotic design decisions that are usually found in F2P mobile games.

You know... I never really played Deus Ex, I'm only here to stalk Vassago Rain cuz I think he's a NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURd, but if it comes to the post, you're right.

Why bother playing a game that isn't finished and does not have a satysfying ending.
It's like playing a video game that sets itself up for disappointment. That said, I think you should still play Deus Ex Mankind Divided, because even though it's not EPIC 9/10, because it, from waht I remmeber short, it's good in terms of gameplay nad overall atmosphere...

I mean, it's a duew xe game and those usualyl have quality to some xetendt. I've head Deus Ex 2 be bad ,b ut lol xd niever played that game lkokl om[./

Also, Jim Sterlins is a usper mixed case, becuase that guy makes videos where he literally spends the entirety of them being like "VIDE O GAME BAED, EVERYTHING BAD... OMG... DID YOU HEAR HOW BAD THINGS ARE RIGHT NOW!?"...
He's informative... But he's not really constructive. He is that kind of critic that exists solely to just talk ♥♥♥♥ about video games, because he just can't enjoy them. It reminds me of those dating guys, the SEDUCTION COMMUNITY and how they said... ACorrding to that Hbombergu video I've watched, that THEY DO NOT ENJOY SEX IT'S A MERE EXCHANGE OF POWER and stuff....
And then HBomberguy responsed with "WELL, YEAH IF YOU "RE BAD AT IT".

At the same time, Jim Sterling is one of the few people that actually tackles incredibly important gaming issues like Sexual Harassment, Predatory Monetization Models, Whale Exploitation in Gaming, especially mobile gaming and other forms of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ behaviour from Game Devs and Backgroudn people on the gaming companies... Like CEOs, marketing department mentos and stuff.

Edit 2: I've removed stuff that was meant to be offensive against a certain user, because I felt that I spiritually disagree with the philosophy of unnecesseary internet hatred.

Work on the sequel for MD was started in 2015 (was probably just pre-production), and was placed on hiatus after this game didn't meet the expectations from Square Enix.

There likely won't be a new Deus Ex for half a decade or more.

i got addicted to DXMD on xbox since 2016 and still going strong with it after switching to PC

everyone's taste is different, but i agree that its "unfinished", its shorter than DXHR but its fun in its own way, im mainly addicted cuz its my type of a game and the gameplay is amazing for me, replaying and choosing different choices/skills, going loud or literally finishing the game without killing anyone which i did ofc lol

i hope there's a sequel though or just a new DX game in general, a new DX game that would be finished, filled with good content and """NO""" Microtransactions.... as well as good advertisement and actually delivering for anyone who gets hyped, rather than disappointing.

i just finished the game. yea the ending is just a cliffhanger and it seems jensen accomplished nearly nothing in mankind divided, but hey, the side quests and environments are so good, i enjoyed it a lot... games are mostly about the journey, not just the ending anyway.

thats the reason im not playing tlou 2, deus ex does not rely 100 percent on story,the game has nice siden quests and gameplay and for that alone i would recomend this game

I haven't watched Jim in ages and I will ignore your hours and review. Your hours mean nothing and your review completely skips over the ending. It doesn't matter how amazing the journey is if the end is garbage.

Pointless? Maybe for someone of your... limited abilities. You talk about most games are stand alone but this one is not as it has a cliffhanger. You say most don't get sequels but those game typically finish their story and not end on a cliffhanger. You say insignificant but I highly doubt you know that word means when you use it in conjunction with a story's ending which to some is the most important. You also say complain but please do open a dictionary and learn that words have meaning. I asked a question because maybe some new information came out over the years or they know something that I did not know. Either way, how about next time you not make a pointless insignificant and more importantly irrelevant comment.
