Yes, they greatly increased level 4 and 5 objects. But you have more software to get around hacks that you really feel you want to do. But there's still a minimum skill requirement, so if you want to hack, invest in hacking.

It seemed harder to me, at first, too. But really, it's just more complex. Once I got used to how hacking works, it became a lot easier.

One thing I found strange, however, was the fact that some level 1 and 2 hacks seemed more difficult than some level 4 and 5 devices.

If you're not having fun with hacking, you can get through them all by using multitools. Although I recommend also having the MicroAssembler aug, so you can craft them as you need 'em.

I greatly disliked hacking and yeah I produced multitools every single time I had enough scrap.

Use Multi-tools, one of the reasons this game is so much better than the first.

In the 1st game, I had to waste my Praxis on hacking abilities.

In this game, I can hack level 5 terminals everywhere, anytime, I use crafting parts.

In the 'first game,' there's only 4 level 5 locks total.

and also level 4 locks.

and also level 3 locks.

and also level 2 locks.

and also level 1 locks.

Multi tools is a great improvement over the 1st game, and more like the original game (which had them)

The first game only ever allowed you to open stuff with either lockpicks or multi-tools, and arguably is far more stingy with them than any of the other games in the series. Without any investment, a single tool takes 10%. Basic containers almost universally have 25%, so you have to spend 2 and a half tools to open them with no investment, but a single 'point' in electronics/lockpicking boosts tools to 25%.

Adam is blessed living in a contemporary world where the options to open doors aren't piles of tools or a GEP gun.

You do not get XP if you use multitools which can hack any level secury in few seconds.
