Deus Ex: Mankind Divided™
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided= PC Performance Problems
Hello Guys,

I've recently purchased this game and in short am having a horrible, and frustrating time, trying to get it to run at 1080P 60FPS on my PC:

My PC

i5 4460 3.2GHZ (With a custom arctic cooler)
8GB DDR3 RAM
GTX 1070 8GB (FE)

My GPU exceeds the recommended requirements.. So why am I getting between 30-60FPS playing this game?1 I've tried a mixture of settings, etc but can't achieve a stable 60FPS the only time I can hit, or get close, to 60FPS is during indoor sequences. In the outdoor hub sections the frame rate just plummets, and the stuttering/frame pacing is so bad. Regardless of whether I run at ULTRA or the lowest of the low settings, the performance gain is negligible,

I have TAA running instead of the more demandin

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thank You!

Apologies I have TAA running instead of the more demanding MSAA
Your CPU is kinda weak, and can't be overclocked to boost performance.
You probably have stupid trash settings in the Nvidia control panel, or a default power profile that limits your gear to 80% max capacity.

Could be many things, but they're all related to how you'ce configured your machine.

It could even be something as simple (since your don't have a K class processor) Nvidia's control panel defaults to your integrated Intel solution. Make a profile in Nvidia control panel, and work from there.
Have you run the benchmark? (Extras menu choice) and let the program choose what works?
Its probably a cpu bottleneck(You could try switching to directx 11 from dx 12 cuz most of the nvidia cards run better in dx 11) .Im running an intel i5-3470 @3.6 ghz and a Rx 480 4gb and with a mixture of high/very high settings i mostly get between 80-120fps indoors and it drops to like 40 fps while running around prague(Thats with 95% cpu usage)

Well your machines CPU is around the strenght of this persons CPU.. so i would sugest trying to look if you have somthing running at the same time. Example Battle.net client takes a big amount of CPU. Browsers tend to take alot of cpu if you have many windows open.

try check how much your cpu is under load when in the game.
+1 for CPU been the bottleneck.

Have you monitored the GPU/CPU usage during gameplay?
When I do with a GTX 970 and i5-3570K (all 4 cores at 4 GHz) and I see the framerate goes under 60, the CPU is the bottleneck.
With your PC idling and nothing running open task manager and check what your CPU usage is when idling.. it should be between 0-2%

Open power options and set it to high preformence.

If you are running Windows 7 make sure your cores are not parked. Park corse are bad for CPU intensive games like this one.

In Nvidia control panel make sure prefer high-performance is turned on
I'm running an i7 6700k (not overclocked) with a gtx970.... and I'm getting great performance.... which might further the case of it being a cpu bottleneck in your case. Just for reference-
I started the game with all ultra settings since i can run everything else on ultra. Worked, but choppy. Cutting it down to Very High or High helped GREATLY.... but the AA is what wrecks framerate from everything i've seen/read. Honestly the game looks great even on medium without any AA..... anyway you can get it to run smooth should be OK. I MAY have read that the game is RAM intensive (i mean regular RAM, not VRAM... although it IS VRAM intensive for sure) so perhaps that could be an issue? Oh- just saw you're running 8GB of RAM.... with RAM being so cheap you might want to grab another 8GB stick (or 2 more 4GB sticks, whatever fits/matches) regardless.... it's so cheap and even if MD doesn't need lots of RAM, there are games that do.
Sorry- long winded. In short- definately NOT your GPU, that's more than OK, either CPU (more likely) or RAM (less likely but still possible). Just keep cranking down those graphics until it works in the meantime... it's a pretty sweet game from what i've played of it thus far.
