unlimited time ? after visiting Marchenko, i rescued delegates ? (Spoiler)
i got a question, lets say i go for Marchenko first, fight starts, i escape through secret door, to save the delegates, do i have unlimited time to kill Marchenko after it ?

or the 10 min starts after i saw Miller, does not matter where i go first ?

why i'm asking, i try to get max XP, but its impossible to take down all those guards between Miller and delegates
or is there any solution for this ?

You have X minutes to do everything, or he'll set off the bombs. The timer starts when he first 'detects' you, which can be as early as your chat with the not-Tarvos guy after the initial elevator ride.

You'll trigger the timer automatically if you get to Miller, regardless of how stealthy you have been.

When you fight Victor, he gives you a lot of time to murder him, but only as long as you actually fight. If you sissy out, he'll search for you, taunt you, then eventually blow the bombs to make a point. If you have the anti-bomb item, he loses the ability to set them off during the fight.

hmm ok thanks, so there is no way to take down all guards between Miller and delegates to maximise my XP
only if i take them down very fast with lots of Biocells and Cloaking, without double takedown tries,

hmm ok i give it a try, to take down atleast some of them
if the time runs out, i have to run to the delegates earlier

Yeah I'm at that point right now, struggling with trying to actually GET to the delegates... God I hate this map in particular. It should be remarkably easy to reach them, but I just can never remember the path to take. Once you get to that room it's reasonably easy to reach Marchenko but pretty much in neither case will there ever be enough time to do in all the guards.

Since its the last mission why do try to maximizes XP anyway? You cant use it afterwards and you'll be able to get plenty XP in New Game +

because i always do that in my first try when i play a Deus Ex game

and btw, i had plenty of time to take down the guards between Miller and delegates, even with double takedowns
End XP: http://prntscr.com/fii3os
plus 3150 + 200 (for the "Stopping Marchenko" mission) = 297785

If you want max experience, you want to set off his alarm as soon as possible, because it doubles the number of enemies. Not getting the puny quest experience doesn't really matter when you can farm elite level enemies with double takedowns all day long.

yes true, but i did play a stealth run without killing anyone, so no alarm for me :)
i know it is not the max XP you can get, but for me its good enough

i'm not sure if you can get into Palisade Property Bank at 3rd visit Prague, front entrance was closed, and VersaLife Vault lift was not accessable for me via garage (maybe i made a mistake at 2nd visit, and left the lift in wrong state)

I also play stealth runs, but this has never prevented me from killing everybody in a very loud, unstealth like fashion.

You can get into the bank itself, but not the shaft which will let you open those vaults. (at least, as I recall.)

Hmmm. About that timer thing... There is no "automatic" trigger for the timer. Allow me to explain...

The London mission, in my latest playthroughs, have gone something like this...
  • After taking the elevator down to CSO, I talked with the fake Tarvos guard and "backed down".
  • Then, in no particular rush, I silently took out all the remaining guards and hit the override switch in the Slater's office.
  • Took the elevator down to the reception area and took my sweet time, methodically taking out all eleven guards without anyone noticing. Got the key card off the last guard.
  • Used the key card to enter the catering area and carefully took out the guards there.
  • Gave Miller the antidote.(Which, it's mistakenly believed, starts the timer automatically)
  • Went to the meeting rooms area (where threre's a gate to the reception area) and methondically took out each of the gold masked mercs, sometimes with takedowns and other times with my supressed Lancer rifle, without anyone seeing me or setting off any alarms, while making my way to the elevator for the vip room.
  • Took the elevator, where Alex calls with the code to the vip room. I stop the delegates from drinking then go for Marchenko, who hasn't called me or done anything yet, since no one was aware Adam is even there.
I know the Wiki says,

Obviously that's not true. In the scenerio above, I've often spent well over an hour and a half, before reaching the delegates and then Marchenko.

iirc, the timer isn't triggered unless you're detected and an alarm is set off in the CSO area, create a panic in the reception area or, are fully detected in the meeting rooms area on the way to the elevator down to the vip room.

I did not realize that. Curiosity has the best of me. I have to know. Which enemies are doubled and where are they?

I want to add another confirmation for what you wrote above. I've done exactly the same thing you listed above 3 separate times and each time I was able to save the delegates, stop the bombs and take my sweet time doing it (well over 10 minutes after saving Miller). Every time someone brings up the timer, I get very confused because I haven't seen it in any of my play throughs so I'm very confused about what triggers it.

Is it possible it's a platform difference? I'm playing on the PC.
