never find passwords, doing something wrong ?
Hi there,

I'm new to the franchise, and what I can see is, every time I need to go somewhere, I have to play the hacking minigame, which, at the end, sucks.

It seems I can bypass this by having the right password, but I never found any of them except for 2 during the Dubai mission.

Any hint on how to find them ?

You can find them by exploring, most passwords and key codes are in pocket secretaries and personal computers (which you have to hack).

Use Multitools to unlock security panels, terminals and computers. Multitools can be found but they're rare. You can buy them from merchants but I prefer to get the Micro-Assembler experimental aug so I can craft multitools with crafting parts, which are much more plentiful.

Don't you need DLC for that aug? I've always had the Deluxe edition so not totally sure.

EDIT - Just looked it up, seems it is only included in the Tactical pack.

you can also buy multi-tools. Depending on your playstyle... chose one weapon and stick with it, sell the rest and you start to horde up a lot of money which can be used to get around that stuff.

At first it seem to be kind of a nuisance but after awhile youll feel like a badass hacking into everything.

Yes, you're right. My apologies. It's sometimes easy for me to forget that not everyone gets the dlc's. :/

95% of the game's doors can also be destroyed with firepower or explosives.

Klauth: there are dozens of pocket secretaries scattered across each section. Once you read them the password automatically appears on keypads so this should really not be an issue.

@All,

Thanks a lot for the answers. I actually have yet to see any pocket secretary, so probably why I didn't get any code.

Also I'll have to have a look at the above, very interesting.

No matter what your type of gameplay is (guns, hacking, stealth etc), you can always unlock/open all locked terminals/doors/etc, either by force, hacking, multitools, passwords, or sometimes, waiting for an NPC to unlock them and then taking the NPC out.

Somewhere else people complain about conveniently placed vents and windows.
