The DLC dose not work for me. I can't load any of my saved games. Wait for a patch before buying.

While I personally enjoyed the game, a lot of people are complaining about optimization (which many many people say the patches fixed), microtransactions (which have zero bearing on the story, and you won't even know they're there unless you actively look), and an "unfinished" feeling (which I can kind of understand. the ending was straight-up a sequel setup). The game is good and fun, well worth the money if you can get it on sale, but people will complain about anything.

1. Unoptimized at launch
2. There's too many micro transactions
3. Short (because it was chopped into pieces for $$$)
4. Too easy (because stealth is overpowered and no boss fights).

Most of the reviews don't tell the whole story.

If you liked the previous game (Human Revolution), then you'll like this game.

Ppl just like to whine.

This game took me 48 hours to play through once, not even including breach or DLC, and I also missed one side mission. I do not understand those who thought this game was short. Those people must have skipped 3/4 of the game. Even then, so many other highly rated games take 10 hours or less to beat. This game is far from short.

The game is really good. Mechanically better than Human Revolution every way that I can think of, and has an extra arcade mode aside from the main game which distills the mechanics to their purest, making for quicker fun without cutscenes and individually replayable levels along with a completely new aesthetic. People who think the game is pay to win or that microtransactions are pervasive just don't know what they are talking about. I'd chalk the inclusion of microtransactions down to a shoe-in by the publisher's executives and not the game devs themselves.

The issues I can think of come in the form of loading times and performance, which are different depending on your hardware. This is probably the most graphically demanding game I've come across, and for good reason. I suggest having a good CPU, because that was bottlenecking my framerate before I upgraded. Overall things have gotten better since launch in many of those areas. The game is by no means short - and is even longer with the DLC. I did enjoy the DLC, and they've been getting better and larger in scope. The breach mode - the arcade mode I talked about earlier - has gotten several free updates.

In short, don't look at the aggregate percentage of steam reviews for your purchase - whiny ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ will be whiny ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and memers will be memers, and won't ever think of updating their reviews. If the game has mechanics, story, or theme you like, then I would buy it. Breach mode adds tons of replayability, there are more choices that have more impact, and the endings are infinitely better than in human revolution. You have more abilities and so do your enemies, there are more weapons and they are more responsive than ever before in a deus ex game.

+1000

I mean, it made shoot outs finally legit option and not pain in the butt. And not only that, but if you want to go guns blazing, you still have the option to NOT KILL anyone thanks to EMP ammo. This game is full of options and is pretty damn long (nearly 35 hours in and just returned from Golem, started 2 SQ that you can only start at night, already missed one from Otar, sadly).
It's improved in every way imaginable. It's not HR 1.5 like some people say (go play Far Cry 3 after 4 and you will die of bordom, because it's nearly exact same crap), it's HR on steroids.

People are just whining over and over about the same thing. Honestly, as others have said if you like HR you will like MD - I thought it was great personally.

Usual complaints

No ending (utter rubbish) - well the story was about a terrorist attack, the illumanti is a story arc -apparently endings and arcs are now the same thing.

Microtransactions (hilarious) - didn't even know they were there, but apparently no one can control themselves from purchasing said transactions - consequently the future of credit cards looks to be a solid investment due to lack of self control.

People play on easy and do not do side quests and say it is short - many reviews were people who played for a few hours - doubt they even finished it - I spent 60 - played on Give me Deus Ex and played stealth and non-lethal.

Basically - it depends on what you like - I thought it was excellent, had hardly any optimization issues, enjoyed the stories and side stories, and was looking forward to another installment which may now not happen due to poor sales, as people would prefer the same old linear non story FPS.

Mankind Divided is a really good game. Especially if you like FPS stealth/action games.
If you have a computer that can handle 60fps, very high to ultra settings, it looks and plays amazing.

I have a Sandy Bridge, i7 3820 3.6ghz 32gb ram and GTX 970 SC
I get a constant 60fps somewhere between very high and ultra settings.

If you have a rig that is giving you problems with some of the games you run, i'm sorry, but not all rigs are buit/created the same way :)

P.S A criminal past DLC is really good, better than i expected :)

Thanks for deleting my extremely on point comment, mods. Doesn't make it any less true.

The long and short is, some suit at Eidos or SE thought they could make lots of money with lots of bad ideas. As we now know looking at the sales numbers and looming 'we're not making more duesex games,' we know that they were dead wrong.

The game's also not unoptimized. It's people running on ancient hardware, or not knowing computers 101 that keep perpetuating this myth. MD itself is extremely good. The launch, and lack of responsibility for them actual publisher and developer afterwards? Not so good. They only have themselves to blame, though.

+Vassago Rain You hate fun, video games and Americans?? You don't realize how lucky you are. Taking everything for granted. It's like saying you hate water, but in a couple of hours you are so thirsty you would give your left nut for a drink of water.

Without America and the western countries, you would be stuck back in the dark ages. Who do you think created the internet? Burkina Faso??? :)

So there I am, in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, at about 3 o'clock in the morning, looking for one thousand brown M&Ms to fill a brandy glass, or Ozzy wouldn't go on stage that night. So, Jeff Beck pops his head 'round the door, and mentions there's a little sweets shop on the edge of town. So - we go. And - it's closed. So there's me, and Keith Moon, and David Crosby, breaking into that little sweets shop, eh. Well, instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big Bengal tiger. I managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace, but the shopowner and his son... that's a different story altogether. I had to beat them to death with their own shoes. Nasty business, really. But, sure enough, I got the M&Ms, and Ozzy went on stage and did a great show.

+Dr Stragelove what year was this? Because now Ozzie looks and sounds like he should be in a retirement home. He's looks and sounds like a corpse :)

Complaining feels good, and when its annonymous it feels even better. Thats why many people do that jumping on that hate traint.
The game is not short, it takes around 38-42 hours on your first run if you do the side missions and explore. If you already know what to do and just run for the exit then it can be like 20-22 hours.
Also, currently its not 50% positive but 65%, significant difference :P

Woodstock? That was quite a show, man. It rained all morning, and then it cleared up in the afternoon. And that's it, I almost remembered something else, but it's gone.
