Shooting Range crashes

Trying to get the book inside Shooting Range.
Everytime I try and leave it, the game crashes.

I been in their before it didn't do this.
Now doing New Game+ trying to get all the books.
So I go in their and when I leave it crashes, also crashes when I try to skip and when I do the entire tutorial. 4x now

I was getting this repeadedly as well, until I found that I didn't need to drop 'everything' from my inventory; just enough to accomodate the Combat Rifle and the Pistol (plus two ammo types for each) that I pick up inside the range. Then, I don't get the crash. I just dropped two long rifles and did the Shooting Range with no problems.

Alternately, if I wait to do the Shooting Range until after returningn from GARM, the cutsecne (where Adam hangs his coat in a locker) doesn't play and I can do it fine, even without dropping any items from inventroy first.

I know there's a lot of stuff in this game that's still broke but, in all fairness to the programmers, this problem may not be so easy to debug as it might seem. I have some programming experinece and I've spent many a sleepless night, debugging software for a problem that should have been an easy fix. Don't know for sure, of course but, I'm just sayin'

The shooting range originallly worked, then it didn't. It was restored to functionally later, but has seemingly been reduced to a low priority thing.

There's two very easy ways to bypass the problem.

1) drop enough stuff so you can actually hold the pistol, rifle, silencer, and ammo.
2) don't drop anything, and don't loot the lockers outside the shooting range. Just go through the shooting range as normal, and loot the lockers afterwards.

Yep, like I mentioned, above. This does work.

In the crash I get, the game freezes as soon as I pick up the combat rifle, provided I haven't dropped anythng before entering the shooting range.

Whether I loot the lockers or not, has no affect on it. What does seem to make a difference is when I do this POI. If I try it during my first or second visit to Prague (before and after Golem City), I get this freeze every time. However, if I wait until Prague is under martial law (third visit), the cutscene of Adam putting his coat in the locker doesn't play (as it does in the previous visits) and I can do the POI without having to drop anything from inventory.

But, are we talking about the same bug? Is there a different one that I'm not aware of?

Thanks for the suggestions in this thread, I was getting the crash on my second playthrough.

After trying a series of things, I dropped everything off in Jenson's Apt, Stash, and that was the thing that worked for me.

I'm getting this bug as well in my NG+ run. Dropped a load of stuff outside the shooting range, but still crashes when I exit. Will give it another try when I get back from Utulek.

iirc, the bug still occurs on your second visit to Prague (after Utulek) but, doesn't happen after getting back from GARM.

Can confirm that for me, it worked after I dropped everything before entering the shooting range.

Dropping everything carefully or dropping only weapons doesn't work.
Is it because of the looted lockers really?

Nope this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game doesn't care if you drop all inventory and don't loot those damn lockers.
Screw this ♥♥♥♥, wasted more than an hour on this ♥♥♥♥

Turn off DX12. Enable the windows pagefile.

There, problem solved.

no, not solved.

DX12 was never on for me and I am having the same issue. Windows pagefile is set to min 12gb max 16gb and thats with 16Gb of ram.
