Hi there, here's a new tutorial with some ideas and techniques to create more interesting elevation maps for fantasy landscapes, combining images and filters. I used v11.1 but much here also applies to earlier versions and editions,

Webinar and tutorials by Tiffanie Gray - learn to create stunning landscapes

Tiffanie Gray, aka Dakorillon, has long been a user and beta tester of Project Dogwaffle. She's also explored painting techniques taught by various traditional artists, such as Bob Ross. You can find introductory tutorials on the youtube channel: Immortal Moments Art - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCokbGIIM9CTT35_B2erkjIg

I highly recommend her, and you may learn more also from her DOTM page (Dogwaffler of the Moment): http://www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/dotm/TiffanieGray/index.html

Finally, don't miss this opportunity to learn her techniques in a (paid) webinar January 13:
How to Create Stunning Landscape Scenes with PD Howler
https://digitalartlive.com/event/how-to-create-stunning-landscape-scenes-with-pd-howler/

Her teachings will of course be based on the latest version, Howler 11, so if you haven't taken advantage of the upgrade bundle discount to move up to Howler 11, this may be the time to do it.

If you first want to check whether Howler 11 will run fine on your PC, trt the demo from the demozone: www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/demozone

Happy howlings and wafflings!

here's a tutorial on how to save/export your videos and animations, in several formats and image sequences. Also how to continue the next rendering so as to chain together several puppyray sequnces of a longer flyby. It was created with a more recent version of Howler but you will be able to do most of these steps. I hope it inspires.

We've added a new text typing simulator, so you can have text animated and appearing as if being typed, by human, with some randomness on speed etc...

There's another new tutorial with the terminal typer tool - remember the movie, where the super computer challenges the boy to a game of nuclear self-destruction? Wargames I think. Sadly very present.

... would you like to play a game?

Then there's of course also HAL, talking to Dave.

I also added a few of the many special effects in the final samples. More tutorials will be created and gathered, available for purchase or group/private tutoring if any are interested.

clarification: the new text tool is from the 2024 edition (v17), not on Steam yet. Hope to have a good semi-final build out on Steam this summer

Newsletter #199 from last week mentions the Class coming up with digitalartlive.com

it is tomorrow!!!!

See details at https://www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/newsletter or go right here to register for free or the paid level:

https://digitalartlive.com/event/pd-howler-evolution-new-features-techniques-and-3d-mastery/

Big discount for free attendees and even bigger for paying attendees, if you desire to move up to the current latest build of Howler 2024. (not available at Steam yet).

Hi everyone, and happy President's Day if you're in the US...

We have listed a bunch of new tutorials in the latest newsletter.

Issue #203 is accessible from here now:

https://www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/newsletter

Check the tutorial announcement on making shooting stars. It is part of a new group of project-oriented tutorials available for purchase. More to come. We're trying to keep them very low cost.

The focus is of course on Howler 2024 but there's a bunch of things in those tutorials including the many free ones at https://youtube.com/pdhowler that you can already do with the earlier editions including from here on Steam.

Hope it inspires.
