The only reason I still don't play the original VP is because it only ran on Win '95. The trick vids and all the stuff that went into this game from the beginning, if you even know about it, makes many $60 titles look like a joke. VP4 is just a rehash of that original game with minimal graphical updates and it cost them very little effort to make it, but for the price it is worth it.
Best thing about the game.......................it was a PC original designed around the use of a mouse and not a console controller.
Kids these days wont learn mate it's not worth wasting our breath.
There's generally like 20 people playing, a few are pretty good, but I'd say most of them are casual. I bought a year of gametime for VP Online for $10 - there's no point in getting VP4 as its just singleplayer and costs a lot more. I kinda regret it already since there's not many more rooms I can play in that I couldn't play in before. There's Snooker and bigger tables, which is nice, but the whole thing with buying cues is completely stupid - the cues are pretty much all the same and don't give you any real advantage over using the default house cue. I suggest just playing VP online, there's always people playing in the non-gratis room (Garage) and you can play 9 ball and 8 ball, which are the only games most people play anyway.
Mate thats wrong. Try using super low deflection shafts, the lowest deflection Snooker Cue, Jump Cue and the most powerful break Cue. It is worth buying and not stupid.
Celeris doesn't really care about anything other than the pool part of the game.
Can't really say why, maybe that's all they know in the west coast.
I find this to be very arrogant towards paying customers. Like they're promoting pool and others can piss off. Well it's been a LONG time like this and despite fed up I don't expect any change anytime soon.
Ps. Shaun Murphy seems to be using a cue with 8.75 so there's 1, but there aren't (m)any more I guess.
- There are often rather more than 20 people playing
- Many of them are quite good or good (rather better than average)
- Offline VP4 is well worth getting as I outlined above
- The break cues give you a massive boost when breaking compared to the house cues; I agree the other paid playing cues are mostly cosmetic, *except* in offline mode, where they get you higher stakes vs AI opponents
- Many people play other games than 8-ball and 9-ball - I regularly see ppl playing snooker, English billiards, cowboy, straight, one pocket, 10-ball, carom billiards, black ball, and more
If you don't like the game, why come here and whine? Just don't play it. You've only lost $10 by the sounds of things. Many people here disagree with your views.
Anyone looking at buying VP 3 or 4. If you always wanted a real pool table, and one just won't fit in your house, then this is the game for you. I've play a thousands of hours of real pool, and just as much of VP 3. You really feel like you are playing real pool, it's really that well made, and the VP 4 looks to be even better.
This game has made me a better pool player in real life, and it's much cheaper then a real pool table, and you don't have to worry about someone scarring the felt.
What you are really doing, when you buy this, is your buying a pool table, that doesn't take up any physical space. It really is that good.
