Virtual Pool 4
XBOX 360 Controller Support
I saw this game went on sale recently, but there is very little forum discussion, but I figured I'd ask anyway. I saw in an earlier post that menu navigation is required with a mouse and/or keyboard I believe, but the game itself can be played with a controller. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

I can play the game with XBOX 360 Controller with a external tool. But best experience is playing with mouse / keyboard

Virtual Pool has always been such a great game that it deserves a console release, especially in the age of digital distribution where costs can be kept to a minimum. There's no reason why the control system wouldn't work just fine with a gamepad. VP already has the ability to hold a button for fine tuning etc. I'm not sure of the status of the developers though; I suspect they've moved on but maybe they could sell the IP to someone that's interested in developing it and taking it to another level rather than its current stagnation.

Should be pretty easy to achieve for casual players who want the game for nothing and play it ~10hours then moving on.

The devs basically don't care anymore Redmist. They hardly post anything anymore. It's a shame. They put together a really good game, but don't support it.

We might do another console release in the future, but console traditionally has not been that great a place for us as the console companies are not that friendly to indie developers.

No controller support for this game is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of (when it comes to cue sport simulations, that is). Virtual Pool 64 had a fantastic and responsive cuing system using the analogue stick. I bought this game without checking if controller support was a thing, because this is 2019, soon to be 2020, and thought it should be a given. Applied for a refund minutes later.

It's not so much that I'm against using a mouse to control the shots. That's perfectly fine, but when you want to have some local multiplayer action, you don't go passing the keyboard and mouse around.

I've setup a programmed called "antinicro" (in combination with "ds4windows"). I've mapped my PS4 controller to have the A btn press the S key, left thumbstick up to move mouse up... etc etc. I can play with the controller to an extent this way. I'm sure how useful the mouse movement up is. Meh.
