Pacing of the game is off
The game starts out at the right pace. But somewhere towards the middle of the game the progress through the prestige tree becomes way too quick. I can mine for dream shards too quick to even care about what I'm upgrading, I'm just dumping them into the tree, doesn't matter where, because it doesn't even make sense to spend too much time reading things, just get more shards.
While the fast pace is fun, you've essentially took what could have been a 3 or 4 hour game and compressed it into a 2 hour game for no reason.

Digseum is a short incremental journey about digging up ancient relics and building the greatest museum ever!

Short and incremental and you point out the obvious?

Such a shame, too. "Short" is the last word I want to see next to "incremental". It's not worth my time playing games I'll have forgotten about by tomorrow.

It's not just short, but the pacing is off and inconsistent. No need to be rude.

Pacing is fine. You just gotta go a certain way with your dream tree.

I have to make bad choices so I don't breeze through the game?

you arent understanding the purpose of this game. This is a short and incremental game. its three bucks. its meant to be 2-3 hours tops. when you apply the math and upgrades it kicks in. bigger numbers means more gains. simple.

You wanting this game to be something is not is a you problem. so yes your fix is to play the game bad, wrong, or not at all. Understand what you are buying. There are tons of idle and clicker games out there that have hundreds to thousands of hours as their design. i would suggest either being happy playing this game opposite of its design or finding something else.

I never said the game was bad. I enjoyed it. My feedback is that the game could be better if it was better balanced by improving the pacing.

ehhh, just because its short doesnt mean it has to be ill-paced.
a 4 hour experience couldve smoothed out some of the big, almost uncontrollable, power jumps.

I think there should be more short incremental games like this. Dragging out the progression would just be an insult to the player's time. I like feeling way more powerful after each prestige.

I have no complaints about the price or length, but the pace is absolutely poor after the first few prestiges.

You go from making gradual progress to blowing through everything super fast. If I had known the layout of the dream tree in advance, or if I had gotten lucky with some random picks (exposing other upgrades), it would have been even worse.

If you know where the dream fragment upgrades are and pick them fairly optimally, you'll quickly go from earning a few dream fragments for the first few prestiges to obliterating the dream tree and buying all the upgrades you don't even care about because you have fragments coming out the wazoo.
Progress explodes after a certain point to a degree that makes me worried there was a bug. It feels like a lot of content is just getting breezed by and skipped.
I think it's fine. I enjoy the more lengthy experiences such as NGU as well, but this tickles an itch of "make numbers bigger NOW".

Only thing I would change is the tag of "idler", because it's not. I mean if you wanted a slower experience, there you'd go, but there's really no point. It is SO much more effective to be that tiny bit more active and simply rebirth

Sorry, kid. You're gonna have to find a different game if you want a long-term solution to hide from your problems

I also feel an extra 10-20 minutes in midgame would have been better. It is too exponential at a point. Anyway the game is fun!

i really enjoyed it, but once you figured out raising dream fragments count was the key the game was pretty much complete
