SPOILERS - Is there another way to defeat the tree lady?
I had to kill Kalash :( He said there might be another solution if only they had enough time. Is there a way to save him, or is killing him the only option?

"I wish I had the power, wisdom and knowledge necessary to easily and with no risk defeat all mundane and supernatural threats without any collateral damage involved."

Avoiding any potential spoiler-type discussion this is the scenario you'd be looking at:

And with that wish, you would die because while you are granted all those things, you lack the will to utilize said knowledge, the fortitude to survive the poisoning you're about to get from Galene (who just made hemlock potent enough to eventually kill a Jinn), and the ability to channel the high amount of power you just requested.

Those are just the loopholes to the wish I could come up with from looking at it on the face. We're talking about Jinn wishes here. The more simple the wish (and rules) the harder it is to create a loophole in wording.
"lack the will to utilize said knowledge" - why would I?

"the fortitude to survive the poisoning you're about to get from Galene" - did you miss the easily and with no risk part?

"and the ability to channel the high amount of power you just requested" - see above.

The Jinn is already dead, he can't twist wishes anymore. And any simple wish can be twisted as well. "I wish you dead" -> extinction scale event hapens, everyone in the world dies.

The wish is still made by Jinn magic though, so the same basic rules apply (according to what Kalash tells you if you get talking much with him during the grove.)

I didn't say a simple wish cannot be twisted, just that the simpler the wish the harder it is to twist. It's somewhat like contract law that way.
Actually the simpler the wish the easier it is to twist, and it's the exact same with contract law. Do you think contracts are so long and complicated because they are intentionally being filled with loopholes? No, it's in order to prevent loopholes by covering all forseable circumstances. Obviously unscrupulous individuals will try to sneak a few loopholes into the mess, but that's not the reason contracts are long.

Perhaps.

Limiting the scope of the wish was what was necessary to the story, so that is what I presume happened. An OP wish of the type you proposed would be just as exploitable and would have failed to solve the imminent issue, so it is what it is.
Let's also consider that MC is probably not in the mindset needed to be clever. They've just killed their kind-of boss and friend's father, and watched their friends be poisoned for their eyes and unable to help there. MC is probably only thinking about the immediate issue of Galene.

Yeah exactly. At the end of the day the MC is only human and they have had a rough few days. By this stage in the game its only three or four days since they found out 1) They were possessed by a demon 2) The supernatural is real and surrounds us 3) Their old life is gone and they are wanted by the police as a mass murderer.

They just killed the leader of the only group that could offer them sanctuary and understand what they have been through. I doubt most of us would be up for cleverly wording wishes in that situation.

"I wish I had the knowledge, will and power to deal with any mundane and supernatural threat" and the end game credits roll
