Screen resolution changing
I am trying to change resolution, but after game restart it is still set to default.
Does anybody have the same problem?

no this worked for me. (using Windows 8 /64) however I can not start the game since when the interactive part starts, I have no mouse or cursor available. Stupid. Gorge is sitting in the plane forever, since I just cant click on his seat belt lock. very frustrating, when they sell games untested.

It is strange, for me mouse works fine, Win 8.1 64. But I found that any settings I change are set to default at the next start.

this forum is abandoned from people, guess we both won't get help here. :-(

ah, I think I have a hint: First, it seems that the first screens are always in standard resolution. However, when the game starts, the chosen resolution will apply. But I suspect, the higher resolutions are not native, somehow rendert and thus not with too high quality.

Well, I found the solution for resolution, running the game in Win XP compatibility mode. But subtitles are still switching off after every restart.

Hey guys, I think this game is not to play with the mouse! Just keybord.

I managed to change resolution like this. Change compatibility mode to WinXP, launch the game, change the resolution, quit the game.
Then, unset compatibility mode to its previous setting, launch the game again, that would be working quite well after.
Though there's no 16/9 compatibility.

Windows XP Service Pack 3 compatibility mode helped with the config not saving. Running a 1050p 4:3 resolution now. Subtitle option also saved. My only problem now is, that i have crappy window-like borders, it looks like a windowed game, but stretched to full screen. kills the mood in my oppinion.

Hopefully, you've all resolved your issues by now but I did notice, when I played it through in July, that the compatibility settings wouldn't hold if you have the game running when you make the changes.

In other words make sure the game isn't running at all, that there are no Broken Sword 3 background processes running. If in doubt reboot PC, then set the compatibility mode, then run the game. Any changes you make in game should now hold.

My step by step instructions are here if it helps anyone:

Sorry to bump an old thread but thanks for this, was driving me bananas! Playing a correct ratio now but with borders, no stretched image.
