Oh and graphics wise... no comparison. Raptor won out there too.
This isn't the shareware version, though, and would you rather the game not be available for purchase at all?
Anyway, I thought Raptor had slightly better controls and a core gameplay than Tyrian, but there is a level of variety in Tyrian that Raptor didn't really contend with.
and I agree the graphics were very sharp in raptor for its time.
And I'm not saying Tyrian is a bad game. I loved both games, but Raptor was definitely better in my opinion. But I guess it's all an opinion.
Raptor to me was ahead of its time, much like Rise of the Triad was (the original one, not the new one). Still, all of these games give me a great feeling of my younger years.
