Is there a way to drop items?

I seem to get myself stuck in situations where my pockets are full and picking up one item leads to me dropping the first item from my pockets. That happens in unfortunate locations.
Therefore I wanted to ask. Is there a way to drop stuff intentionally in a more discrete location?

Apparently not. Would be a nice thing to add. Dropping items in your room in dressers for later. Or at least put items back so it’s less suspicious for the son’s parents.
