Tavern side mission: Collecting a shipment bug
I am so sick of this. Have played PTIII for years, and I still find that whenever I accept a mission from a trader to collect x amount of goods and ship them elsewhere, I can have 3-4 large ships empty waiting for the full 20 days and I will still get an alert saying "Why did you not come and collect my goods, I will take my trade elsewhere?"

What gives?

Just how much space do they need?

All other "collection" missions work fine (courier, I'm in fear of my life, etc). Just this one.

It might be a bugged/glitched copy, I recommend checking the files for that.

Which files do I check and what am I checking for? It's the transport order mission. I have 2 empty ships and the order is only for 18 goods, but I get the "Why didn't you collect my goods" message.

Checked warehouse, checked tavern.

I've never seen this bug myself, although I rarely take that mission. If you must know, the pay is horrible, totally not worth it even if you do somehow have a ship traveling to the required destination with no cargo for some reason.

By "18 goods" you mean 18 loads? That's 180 barrels. Do your ships have space for 180 barrels? Ship weapons and sailors take some space.

Yeah, I thought the same thing for a while. From what I've checked for myself the only way to get it working is to have ONE ship with sufficient room available. If the guy asks for 18 loads and you have two snaikkas with 10 each, that does not work (for me at least). Time to whip out the old Crayer. The Snaikkas only start with 150 barrels (before your town's tech level increases) so you will have to upgrade to do these missions.

Let us know if that works for you too, because I haven't had an issue since I tried that.

I second this comment. I had missions that were only fulfilled once ONE ship met the requirements, not the convoy.

I never do that mission it isn't worth it

One trick to do that mission with a convoy:

- Remove the ship with the largest cargo space from the convoy;
- Drop speed to lowest possible one;
- Accept the mission;
- Wait for the letter to show at which ship the goods are;
- Add that ship to the convoy;
- Set destination to required town;
- Set speed to your favorite setting and watch the convoy until it's close to entering the city;
- Select the ship with that cargo and order it to sail to that city.
A question will pop up asking if you want it to leave the convoy. Answer with "Yes".
- The moment that ships docks it's mission completed. Add it to the (also docked) convoy and use the ship for whatever you had in mind.

All missions are worth it, if you know how to do them. Some require a bit "out of the box" thinking, but all are doable.
Some missions may give you ships or money, some only give money, but all have a benefit at some point, as they have effect at your reputation.

Oakshield, with 'it isn't worth it' I mean the profits and the time you spend on it, there are so many other things to do and to watch, especially since there is no pause button..
