Here's how you do it. Click on the game in your steam library. You'll see a gear, hoover over it and "manage", click "PROPERTIES" and go to "LAUNCH OPTIONS" then "ask on start." You'll see LEGACY lisa and DEFINITIVE lisa.

By the way, the Linux build doesn't have any definitive edition stuff at all. So the launch option does not appear unless I enable Proton compatibility, but why would I do that?

The new launch screens etc are not a plus imo. I alt f4'd before I saw any real menu.

thats not even the main problem, its small conpared to the ♥♥♥♥ audio balancing

besides the dulin grunt being removed, some attacks like buster punchs not only sound weaker but are much quieter then the actual damage noise, which sounds wierd its self

Balancing? No idea what he's on about. However. Some sounds are lamer. Like, crows now do a realistic crow noise, the sleeping jingle is now replaced by god's call tune played on an organ.. Minor changes but eh. Also, punching sounds lamer, but i'm being nitpicky at this point.

buster punches use it by itself its sound quiter
