Getting stuck in cave after recovering "Buddy"

Maybe Brad is just tripping balls. And maybe this is one of the many ways the game punishes me for taking a wrong turn. But has anyone else encountered this? After defeating the weird (His name is...Wally? Wuvo? Something that starts with a W) junk-food making guy that some people apparently worship as a god and dodging those weird spiders with human heads, I find buddy's mask and recover her in a cave. I then get stuck in that cave with no escape and no way to backtrack.

Did I imagine the whole game? Do I need to be committed to a mental institution?

This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane.

You should be able to just go back the way you came.

There's also a hole in her cave if you didn't see it.

I got stuck there too for a few minutes. There's a hole in the cave back from where you came -> if your monitor is dark like mine it can be hard to see.

I just reloaded when that happened. If you go to the bottom you can find her poncho. I never considered raising my brightness. Thanks.

There is a hole to exit the cave from where you entered, you cannot see it because it is dark
