LISA

Are there any games to play that are similar to LISA?
Not The Last of Us either. I want to play a game on the computer.

I just beat a Beautiful Escape and I hated it. To each their own though. Thank you for the suggestion though. Everyone has different tastes.

Also is it Vinny Vole's because nothing popped up for Willy Vole's.

Is this the game you are speaking about? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAiDiWIzgEQ

To be frank I did not like A Beautiful Escape myself, and I hold it to be an objectionable game, but it is a game worth playing non the less. But this is not about why it is the case.

Yup, that is Vinny Vole's existential nightmare alright. As straightforward as it gets. Very old game.
Oh ho, Vinny Vole... it's not exactly an old game cause it's mostly a 'joke' created by a British internet comedian for the BBC (Not the game itself, just the concept) back in 2010. But doesn't make it any less spooky ey?

Believe it or not, Ultima VIII is pretty similar to LISA in terms of darker themes and having to make some brutal choices for the greater good. Of course the gameplay is completely different being an isometric adventure game. People tended to hate it because it was unfinished at the time of release and completely different from the other 7 Ultimas, but if you are unfamiliar with the series it's worth a go. One of my personal favorites.

I justed started playing Ghost Suburb II, has that familiar vibe and it's another rpgmaker game. Freeware too.

I actually took some silly which RPG Maker game should you play and that popped up.
Is Dishonered like LISA?

It has a vague similarity in that you have a daughter figure and she responds to your actions.
However it does lack that formidable pessimism of LISA and is a much lesser game for it.

Oh, wow. I was not aware, thanks Jake!
I was under the impression that it was made as an experiment for one of those "mix tape", old timey British consoles, back in their day, simply because it had that look.

Not a problem, it's pretty cool that you thought that as it means the person who made the actual game did a good job recreating the style you know.

Funny you mention game 'Mix Tapes' as that was the subject of the episode it was joking about, Vinny Vole was part of the 'DTI Fun Pack 1986'. If you'd like to know more, I'd watch the episode which I shall link you to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrQEMBN8DNU

Will do that! Thanks ;)

In that case I recommend The Cat Lady. It was recently ported to Steam. It has a unique art style, great story with dark themes and lets the player make choices throughout the game. Highly recommend.

The story. That sounds vague, but I mean a game with a dark and deep story.

I actually played Downfall and that kind of ruined my taste for trying The Cat Lady. I also keep missing sales for it. Also, a suggestion for anyone who likes these games would be the Walking Dead games. You have to like point and click though. They have great stories that will make you cry. Season 2 was sadder. Season 2 has an amazing soundtrack.

No mention of Always Sometimes Monster? The hard choices you have to make, combined with the dark but realistic world makes it very similar to LISA.

You're in luck, cause games like this are my jam! Try Undertale, Earthbound, Ghost Hospital, End Roll, Dreaming Mary, Patty and Mr. Miles, Re:Kinder, Mogeko Castle, Farethere City, and One Shot if you like this style of game. You probably would enjoy it.

You should also try Witch's House and Ib because the story is great (it's not similar to Lisa though).

The best written piece of media in history is by far Planescape Torment. Try it out, man.
