Does Terry ever become useful?

I'm still early in the game, he's at about level 6, and... yeah. I don't yet see his usefulness in combat. For now I replaced him with Nern.

I was level 4 doing about 12 damage a hit to everything in sight, then i bit off a bit more than i could chew with a mutant enemy that was WAY too strong. Everyone was dead, but not terry. Just when i thought it was the gg and i would have to start again. Terry's basic attack crit for 2k damage. My friends and I were baffled. Terry OP.

I figured Terri *MIGHT* be a Magic Karp, but this is the kind of game with a sense of humor where it would trick you into thinking he might be useful - only for the punchline to be that he wasn't, and you wasted your time.

The game is trying to activly get us to kill Terry though so it could just as easily be trying to trick us into killing the best character. Also Terry's Abilitys to appear to get less horrible as he levels up. His abilty to send party members into a rage and get their crits up is super useful and if you pair him with Nern you negate his bad MP and have two healer support characters on your team. It seems that Terry's stats aren't all that bad except for his awful hp and and mp. But some of the scrolls you can get help negate this by raising his defence or mp. Also they can up his special attack which would help with skills like his fire dance and make him a decent damager. And while I haven't gotten that far yet I'll bet their is a scroll to raise your HP. Maybe the scrolls were their for Terry all along! Lets give all our scrolls to Terry.

Terry Tip: Sacrificing Terry for your arm makes Terry sad. :(

For right now, yes, I would say Terry is actually useful. He's the reason why I survived a fight against every mutation I've fought. If his Verbal Insult wasn't so useful at causing berzerk I would definitely not use him.

I'm still on my first play through, terry is around 19-20, he gets VERY useful, becomes a very versatile character (he can even do some damage)... unfortunately his HP and MP is still the worst so he can easily get one shotted by... lots of things... most things. (weather report has a GREAT success rate)

The party i have is higher level then anyone else, so i can't justify switching anyone out unless they get permadeathed... so I'm with terry till I can be with him anymore.

On a flip note, Bucket didn't start learning new moves till level 18-19, I though he would never get anything new. but his damage...seems to ignore any defense or characters blocking, but he cant crit.
