Ok, without spoilers, how sad is this gonna get?

I know theres an addon type thing called "the joyfull", but christ the main menu has a woman hanging herself. I dont like sad feels :(

Very. Very sad and very disturbed. If you're feint of heart, I'd highly suggest giving it a pass, even if it is an amazing game. Seriously, that title screen is just the tip of the iceberg.

Joyful, in the context of this game, does not mean what you think it means. The ending of Painful shows exactly how many "sad feels" you're going to get from the whole "Joyful" thing.

im still more than happy to have picked up the game. Got the version with the soundtrack, which is nice. I can handle sad feels if its in a, oh idk how to phrase it, like the miain character dies, but the mission to save everyone succedes. Maybe, i lose alot of commrades, but I save the little girl, and preserve in some small essence a glint of humanity.

Basically, a MORAL victory no matter how pyrrhic it may have been, is ok. The reverse of that is whatl kill me.

This is one of my favorite games of all time, it's a blast. Just don't expect it to be happy all the time. Or joyful.

Ok, will it at least be dark and depressing, BUT also macabre? Cuz the depths of human suffering can be easily played of for laughs in my book. Im guessing not, but its worth a shot lol

Oh, this game is full of humor. It's everywhere. The balancing act it does between morbidly depressing and absolute hilarity is amazing. It just leans more heavily to one side when it comes to the main story

there is enough humor to allow your psyche to recover from the CRUSHING depression. but thats it....you will walk away from this game thinking two things. 1, what a great experience, with such a deep and well told story. and 2, i need therapy now.
