LISA really is a painful experience - NOT worth playing ON HARD MODE till you have played it on normal
Started off decent.

Ran out of save games. 1 hours in... struggling to work out where to go.... 2 hours in...still no more save games. I have a bike.

Used the guide. Not helpful.

Guide Says I need to use the firebombs and the bike to pass the chasm.

I have no more fire bombs and the generator, the only place you coudl get them, is empty.

This really has been a painful and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ experience. After 4 ♥♥♥♥ing hours of wandering around Ive lost all my progress and money after falling down a cliff.

Just a ♥♥♥♥ amateur type game.

"Pain Mode is an extra difficulty setting designed to make the player's experience more complicated. Not only that but certain areas change and some enemies too.

It also allows the player to see the Painful ending and obtain the Sorry Master achievement. "

NOt really true is it?

Theres a lot more unfairness and B.S. when you have selected Painmode they neglect to tell you about.

The sortve thing I expect from cheap pathetic games makers.
Nope, that's accurate. Pain mode doesn't change a lot; it just limits save points to one use (which is fairly significant if you aren't familiar with the game), makes around 2-3 boss fights tougher, and adds a new post-ending scene and small optional area to see. That's it.

This game does have some resource management issues, though tens of thousands if not more have managed to get through it just fine, so I think you may be overstating the difficulty a tad.

If you're actually interested in playing the game, then you can ask us for tips and advice and we may help (from what you said, main thing I can say is that you're not very far in, so you may want to switch to normal mode so you can save more frequently, and that firebombs aren't needed to jump the gap, they're just really helpful for getting the bike), though if all you want to do is complain, you'd likely be better off just using Steam's refund feature and moving on.

Seriosuly, just 1 save game place AND a real explanation of how difficult it woudl have been and I would have been singing this games praises.

But, ive wasted a ♥♥♥♥ load of my time on it with nothing to show for it.

I am PARTIALLY to blame. BUT ultimatly, my feelings of the game are that it sucked because of a lack of available information.

I agree Pain mode could've been a bit better explained in-game, though it was a feature thrown in after the game was already fully made and released, so that may part of the reason the choice is kind of shoehorned in there.

You may hate the game now cause you wasted time on it, though you can always give it another chance on normal mode, where the experience will likely be a lot better for you; it'd likely be pretty quick to regain progress too, since you already know what to do for the early stuff. If you don't want to, that's fine, but I wouldn't see much point wasting even more of your time complaining if that is the case.

Maybe try not playing on hardmode right out the gate if you have this kind of personality, just a tip.

You started out trying to play a blind Pain Mode run and now you're whining about how it's too difficult for the likes of you.

Oh, did you hear that? That's the sound of hubris meeting reality. Sort of a dull, wet smack, like useless meat hitting a concrete wall.
Neo Illusionist 19 JUL 2015 a las 18:23
You should definitely try playing through the normal difficulty. It's an amazing experience, and it would be a shame to miss out on.

I did Regular first cause that was initial release, and + you don't get one of the ending if play it on painful, so regular it was first for me. Honestly as far as turn-based RPGs go, LISA RPG is actually pretty easy ,comnpared to most rpgs, if you're an RPG player. Oil abuse or not.
Also the game comes out and says it's gonna be. And little bit of digging into forum will show what the difference between a normal and painful play is like.

I didn't even know what pain mode was, but it just seemed like something I shouls avoid because it was my first time...just saying...

You can beat the game with just Brad on Pain Mode, this is a pretty simple RPG, dude. lol

The game calls itself the painful rpg, you selected pain mode and then cry that it's a bad game because it's painful? Do you know how stupid that makes you seem.

If I stopped playing Isaac when I lost runs and runs with OP items...
Now I have 100% on that game (or I had, before the Eternal Damnation update striked in) and his remake is my favorite game.
Come on, give it a chance, it's worth the time.

Also a little story that might make you feel better.
In a part of the game theres a wrestling section, where you can farm XP infinetly.
I decided to level up to the max every character I had, it took me like 9 or 10 hours.
It ended up being a prank from the developer, two hours latter I reached the ending and I only used 2 of the 24 o 25 party members I leveled up.
Then I saw an ending that can make cry even the people that have seen Aeris death.
Ghin 20 JUL 2015 a las 9:56
I honestly did not think this game was hard at all. This genre is about the story, not difficulty. The battles are another way to tell the story.

Honestly, Brad is capable of getting to the end by himself without any party members.

You keep saying "impossible" "B.S" etc. while lots of people, including me, have beat the Pain mode. It's hard, yes, and that's the point of a hard mode. IMO it's designed for people who have beaten the game on normal mode and know where most of the stuff is and where to go, and in what order. It's a challenge mode for real fans, not for whiny kids like you who start the game on hard mode, put a few hours in it and then throw a tantrum.

Just sit the F down and start the game on normal mode. It's a great game if you'll give it a chance.

I'm doing it right now it's not that easy!!

The Men's Hair Club Presidents are giving me a hard time. The hair can one shot Brad if he doesn't inflict Falling on it the first turn. Lots of RNG in this fight...
A lot of things can one shot you in this game, I imagine the MHC is just the beginning of your pain mate.
