Just don't use more than 2 characters with Joy Addiction (counting in Brad), cause a team like that is very very risky.
I have a hard time leaving the Dojo Buster off my team though, so that was definitely a negative.
Not sure if the best. You always have to deal with joy addiction. But I thought they were fun.
My fav
But I'm not sure why everyone is sleeping on Jack. A lot of the AoE guys have downsides (Fardy has depression, Fly needs a stronger wep, etc.) but Jack can deal Fire AoE, and can cause bleeding. He can wipe out the Tsunami gang in one go, and can support fighting the mutants with bleed. I found him to be stupid good for my run.
I'd say the best would be Jack, Birdie, and if you want support, Bo, and if you want more power, Mad Dog.
I think the oil and fire team is probably the best and easiest to pull off for a Joyless play. Brad, Jack, RT, Birdie was the team I used on my first play. Jack has great AOE damage with Juggle. RT has some powerful status effects and a strong Fireball. Birdie barfs gasoline on everyone. Mad Dog is good too, but I feel like he suffers because of his TP meter.
On my second play, I used Brad, Carp, Geese, and Fly Minetti. Carp does absurd damage and has some unique debuffs. Geese is solidly above average in every department and has what seems to be the best paralyse attack. Fly has great AOE damage and Puke is solid.
I'm not sure what the best team would be. The game isn't difficult and there are enough strong characters that it doesn't really matter.
Plus, his opening monologue is awesomee and makes me smile.
I'm really surprised about the Nern mention, though, I think I'll use him in my armless playthrough.
