Farming Technique (Spoiler Included)
If you go into the caves with the shadow figures, you can easily kill them and earn EXP as well as 10 mags a pop. This is a great training method, as well as getting a lot of the currency in the game, which can be a huge benefit, and a game changer.

I don't know if this is meant to be in the game, or if it was on purpose; however, it is there sooooo... Have fun playin the game. I know I did.:fardy::hintlord::percy:

Yes. I have been advocating this method since day 1. Best ever. All you need is a little patience!

What are those things anyway?

I think they are the same creeps running around in the joylab (also in the surrounding village). The body shape fits though the stats do not.

Hmm, I always thought that it was some weird molesty type of a thing. Isn't there like a groping move that it does or something? I can't quite remember.

It's more of a safeguard in case the player's been THAT beaten down and unable to continue as-is.
As long as you've got party members left, you can go back and level/equip them, buy whatever amount of items you need, and power through the rest of the game, if you have the patience to do so.

If you aren't having a hard time of the game, then going back and grinding like that is actually kind of counter-productive, since the rewards that you get going forward will tend to greatly outbalance what you can get by grinding like that, in terms of stuff over time.

It's way easier to grind once you get to the wrestling area... 2000xp each time and you can do it as much as you want.

Well actually, I'm pretty far in the game, and I just need to get the bathhouse fan, so is there any other grinding areas I can use?

The best spots are what's mentioned in this thread. The Wrestling place between areas 2 and 3 is definitely best if it's available. If you're locked out of doing that, then I'd suggest either the caves or not bothering with grinding (since it shouldn't really be needed, outside of maybe needing to replace dead party members with low level ones).

There are a few other areas you can find random encounters to grind on, but none of them are as rewarding for mags as the cave enemies, and all of them also give worse exp, with the sole exception of Poisonous snakes, which give a bit more. That said, Poisonous Snakes are also much more of a pain to deal with and don't even reward a single mag, so I'd still go with the Unhuman Figures in the caves instead.

If you haven't explored every side area yet though, then I'd suggest doing that, since most unique encounters in this game are fairly rewarding for EXP, and side areas tend to be interesting and worth exploring anyway.

As long as you can't kill the snakes in the first round while just smashing the "attack" button, the dark caves are your way to go. If the wrestling area is no option, of course.
