How do I Git Gud? (Joyful combat woes)
I feel like I'm either missing something, or the combat is borked. No equipment items (that I can find), extremely limited skills (with finnicky execution, though that part is more on me), and no efficient way to heal in combat (I burn through items incredibly fast). And everyone seems to have absurd amounts of health.

What do I do? Am I actually missing something? I'm hitting a wall against the 4 guys in green. Or is it really just down to "get better at hitting the ring"?

I'm having the same problem, I got past the four dudes with the green hoodies with diesel bombs but then you have to fight Sindy Gallows right after. the dude hits so hard taking off 800 hp out of 1700 hp max. There are other fights besides this one but I can't seem to make any progress without burning through all my healing items (which isn't many).

The combat is fine, be sure to abuse joy if you are in trouble and try to save up disel bombs for multiple enemies. Get good at landing your skills, getting that bleed effect consistantly is a life saver. It is also a good idea to buy up on food items, if you kill the vendor by revealing yourself, you are basically shooting yourself in the foot.

I really think everyone agrees with you, the game itself is centered around combat. The promblem is that the combat feels finnicky and all enimies have atleast 5,000 HP, Mutants have 10,000, and Big Linchion is OP As ♥♥♥♥. The only way I could get through the game was becuase I wanted to see the ending so bad. It feels like the game forces you to use joy, I don't know if ANYONE has beaten the game without joy. You probably get a different ending based on using joy or not, but joy is basically the only thing to use.

I really hope the developers update the game to make less bullshitty.

Does joy actually effect the ending?

I found out that Buddy's Flash move is surprisingly good, especially against Joy mutants. It's not as good vs groups of people (I think she could use a multi-target attack), but it actually got me through most of the single target fights in the game no problem. You can also get more firebombs if you sleep at the fire a few times - at one point Buddy will wake up in a completely different place. You have to kill a joy mutant there, which should be easy with Flash. You'll be rewarded with 4 diesel fbombs.

I never used Flash, based on one of the Pink Scribbles that tell you "Don't use your body as a tool." I bet it effects the ending somehow.

Million dollar question, here. i haven't used any Joy at all because of the potential ending, since I thought it'd be better to get the difficult one out of the way first.

As it stands, killing the vendor is unavoidable whether I reveal myself or not. Dude's a mutant, yo

Joy does not have any effect on the ending. I guess it goes with the title, some of the later fights are almost unwinable without joy, it is purposely designed that way.

The real question is, does using Flash effect the ending?

Nope, it does not. : )

Now that's a good question. There are supposedly a few post-ending dialogues, but what triggers them is yet unknown.

I thought it would, considering a message said- "Don't use your body as a tool."

No clue if using Flash affects the ending since I never used it and got the Yado ending, but concerning the vendor, it might be best to kill Chester just before finishing the first crossroads, so you get all 256 of his mags to spend on jerky from the bar. All you get from Mutant Chester is 3 Joy, which you get more than enough of elsewhere.

The endings are triggered by different acheivements.

I should make a new post explainging how to trigger them, but here goes anyway: (massive spoilers)

The 3 endings are:

Yado (in the run, you must not have the " I am sorry" acheivement or the "The source" acheivement)

Buzzo (You must have gotten "The source Acheivement", but not the "I am sorry acheivement" this run)

Marty (If you have gotten the "I am sorry acheivement" the Marty ending will always override all other endings).
