I might have had the same issue as you, is the launcher not popping up (lets you select whether to play Painful/Joyful AND in legacy/normal mode)?
I had to restart my comp to get the launcher to pop up after installing the DLC. So if you haven't, try that! If that doesn't solve the issue then I have no idea. :c
ALSO for me, the launcher only opens when you select Play through the steam library, not the desktop icon. SHRUG

I'm having the same issues. The only way I'm able to get the launcher to open is to select play from the library. You can also start the game by digging through the steam folders and finding LISA the Joyful there. It's good that there are other ways of starting the game, but perhaps a patch is in order? idk.

That's unfortunately a limitation of Steam, I don't know why they have decided that their launcher should only come up if you hit the play button in the library, but you can also launch the DLC by right clicking on the game in your library, that will give you all the launch options as well.

Daver, you need to fix your game launcher. This isn't a Steam problem. Every other DLC on Steam works okay.

From what I've seen on my own. Other games get around this limitation by having their own launchers. There's very few that make use of Steam's launch options and their default launcher, presumably exactly because of this issue, but there are some. (Age of Empires III for example)

I have contemplated adding a seperate launcher that circumvents this limitation of Steam's launch options, but I have yet to think of a solution that isn't too annoying for people that don't own the DLC or super janky, but I would definitely like to fix it.

Dude chill the ♥♥♥♥ out, just hit play at your steam app, not the game at your desktop
and it will pop up with two choices, play: lisa or lisa the joyful

Old thread is old but steam WILL NOT PROMPT for either LISA or LISA the joyful, but rather, for LISA or LISA on Legacy. Anyone else has this issue?
