Joyful Question (SPOILERS)
In one of the endings you can see that Buddy has clearly conceived a child, but who got her pregnant?

inb4 it's just toilet guy from The Painful and not a child

Don't both endings have a child? Could've sworn Mutant Buddy was holding the same kid in her hands...

I don't recall a toilet guy in Painful. Where was this?

Yup, it's in both endings, though in the Mutant ending, I think the child was sitting on something rather than being held (the child itself still looked identical though). Edit: (Realize I had it backwards after checking the ends again. Child's sitting in the good end, in Buddy's hands in the bad end.)

Really have no clue who it is (could be Brad, though nothing really hinting at that other than him being the only other character we see in the ending (and the only main character still alive aside from Buddy). I'd say it's probably more likely to just be some random guy we never see though, since there're still other guys alive out there, and Buddy wouldn't have any trouble getting someone (That would probably seem more desirable from Buddy's perspective as well).

Spoilers follow, obviously. From what I've gathered from discussion from various sources, the flag (the variable to determine baby/babyless ending) hasn't quite been established. In my first run, Buddy had the baby in the "Leave them" ending but not in the "Join them" one, and again, this is from the same save. It was initially thought it was Bolo's (Rando ultimatum, drop or hold on part) but again, I held on in my save and only got the baby in "leave them", and others report getting the baby in both or not getting a baby in either. Some people think the ending is glitched as a result.

My assumption that the baby, in either end condition, is concieved from a surviving male after the events of the game. This, unfortunately, has horrifying connotations for the "join them" ending.

Hmm, what you said there made me realize what it might be, actually. First off, pretty sure it's not Bolo, since yeah, I've gotten the baby to show up picking both options there (plus with how quickly that mutant showed up and Buddy being fully clothed, I don't think Bolo had the chance anyway).

But well, there was that point early on where Rando and Buddy got Kidnapped, then one guy did "something" to Buddy before Bob Friday and the other two guys killed him, so it could be possible that guy's the father. Only issue I see with this theory is that I'd have thought that scene happens the same regardless of whether or not you trust Rando, though I never got any of the endings choosing not to trust him, so perhaps not.

Also, are people 100% sure that the baby/kid doesn't show up in some endings, and people aren't just overlooking him? Cause if he always shows up, then that would get rid of that potential hole in the theory.

SPOILERS FOLLOW: I just now completed the game for the second time to wrap up achievements. Unlike before, the baby showed up in "Join them". Here's a quick list of potential variables/things I did:

-Did Joy
-Did not trust Rando
-Did not use "Flash"
-Did not pick up joy at the two noise spots (there are two places that joy is located where when you pick it up, it makes a mutant noise- one before the final boss and one before the Rando Ultimatum)
-Let Rando go

Also, I noticed you can run right past Rando at that part and he'll die by default.

Running for "Leave them" now.

My guess on it is that once Buddy became the most powerful person in the wasteland, people became horrified of her and stayed away. Buddy then did the diddly doo with some random dude.

"Leave them" from the same save, resulted in a baby. That being said, I've never seen a "Leave them" ending without a baby. I have no idea what triggers it at this point.

Also forgot to mention in this same save I got the Lisa epilogue.

Also the baby looks kinda lifeless, could it be that it's just a doll? Perhaps a painful mode will reveal more, maybe not. It'll be a while until people figure this out.

Alright, think I figured out the detail with the baby being there or not in the ending. Basically, if you get the ending where you become a mutant, then whether the baby will be there or not seems to depend on your choice with saving Rando (so this would imply Bolo's the dad), though if you take the antidote, then the baby's there regardless of that option (which would imply that she had a baby either way in this end, either through Bolo, or by finding someone else).

Of course, the other possibility is that it's an oversight (and that the kid shouldn't be showing up if you killed Bolo instead of holding on to Rando) though I could see how it'd make sense for the baby to appear either way in the good end, since it wouldn't be odd or hard for the last girl to find a guy (or want a kid) when she's not a mutant.

I'd like to ask though, has anyone had the baby not appear with the good end? I'd just like to confirm that it's only with the bad/mutant end that the baby has the potential to not show up, so we can be more sure there isn't some other variable.

I figured the same, however, I let go of Rando and resulted in having a baby in the "join them" ending, so that elimates the possibility of it being related to Bolo, unless like you said, it was an oversight or glitch. I also have the same question- I have yet to see a non-mutant end without a baby.

No, they're referring to Sticky's dad, the guy who cut off Buddy's face.

Judging by its appearance, my initial reaction was that she had it with Brad. Ugh, and the worst part is that it makes a lot of sense; who else would she trust enough to have it with?

Even as a mutant? Sheesh.
