I farmed mags off of Shadowy Figures in the Area 1/Area 2 caves.

Also, if you're feeling lucky, you could go do Russian Roulette for +1000 mags, but this doesn't offer an unlimited amount of mags.

Also if you need Mags. I would recommend going out to the band near to the way right side of the pretty empty village. Take off your mask and they'll engage in fight. If you have any firebombs you could take them out in 2-3 rounds. They drop A LOT of stuff. Mags, healing items, Cocola-Colas. You can do the same for the random guy in the house and the bartender. I wouldn't fight the bartender though because if you do fight him then you can't buy anymore items for him.

Honestly I never felt the need to get mags in the dlc. There was a lot of joy lying around.:steamsalty:

Never used Joy in the DLC. I thought the whole "Joy Withdrawl" status effect would pop like with Brad but it never did..... So I just kept waiting....and waiting......and waiting..... and then I beat the game without joy.

Most of people there are probably talking about pre-Mend. Mend makes it really easy.
First blind playthrough before Mend was pretty rough. I just went crazy killing people without the mask. And then I realized I can't buy jerkies because I killed the bartender. I died on Big Lincoln few times and then thought screw it and used Joy.

Well, I'm glad that I became accustomed to use it, because ♥♥♥♥ that joy-mountain guy. Hunting for achievements was so much better with Joy.

Question is: For what? He is one of the two merchants in the game, and he is the only one selling SP replenishers.
@ topic: there is no real need for mags. I got quite far with just using Flash and attacking with Dustin. And when I found out that there is a QTE mechanism implemented in your stabs (thanks to the internet) winning fights became fairly easy. And later on all your sorrows are by the Mend skill.

Well can't you fight him when he's mutant?
Or does it not have those mags when he's a mutant?
In either cases you could easily kill him right before his mutant event, it happens right after killing the three of the people on the list.

The ZCMME: You can fight him at both forms, but here's the thing: Normal Chester gives a ton of mags, but not much experience, but Mutant Chester gives a lot of experience, but no mags.
Ah. So it's really up to what you think is more important. Mags or experience.

I'm totally relaxed. ;) Just wanted to mention that having Mags without somebody you can trade with seems pointless.
