A question about LISA: The First
First off, should I play it before The Painful? And now to the real question that I need help on.

The games font is really clumped together, and I can't fix it. Do I need to install a font? Or is there something else. It runs on RPG Maker 2003 so I really have no experience in this area.

Would recommend to start with Lisa: The Painful and Lisa: The Joyful. If you are intrigued enough you might enjoy Lisa: The First afterwards because you get further insight.
But it's not a very good game to start with.

I recommend LISA: The First before The Painful because Painful contains references to The First, and you may not get them. Theres also a really big part in the story which may slightly confuse you.

As for your problem, I believe the bigger your moniter is, the more unreadable the text is. My moniter is size 1920 x 1080, and the text wasn't too hard to read, but was still pretty smashed together. Hope I helped.

Alright thanks! Do you know how to shrink the size of the game?

But he will get them if he plays The First afterwards. So what's point in starting with the less enjoyable game first? I feel it is much easier to get through The First after you've been hooked by its sequels.

Lisa The First definitely isn't required playing, but does better explain one aspect of the backstory, and it's pretty short (around 1-2 hours). Sounds like you've already decided to go through with it first, though I'd say if you wind up disliking it or getting stuck (there's one frustrating puzzle in particular a lot of people hate), then don't feel like you gotta hold off on Lisa the Painful, since that still stands fine on its own and is a lot better.

Far as the font goes, the default font in RPG Maker 2000 and 2003 can sometimes be crappy if you don't have the correct fonts installed already. If you're having font problems, try installing the below font files:

http://rpgmaker.net/engines/rt2k3/utilities/1/

They're pretty simple to install: Either double click each font then click "Install" in the top left corner, or find your Windows/Fonts folder, then drag them in there.

So, my opinion on what you should just do is watch someone play it.
You can easily youtube a playthrough it.
It's like a 45 minute game, and it's not really worth playing all the way through.
But, I mean, if you've got it downloaded, then go for it pal!
Otherwise, just watch someone play it, and get ready FOR THE RIDE OF YOUR LIFE WITH THE PAINFUL AND JOYFUL BECAUSE MY GOD THEY'RE SO AMAZING BUT ALSO SO SAD AND AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
So yeah... I like your profile pic ;P

Agree with Althaeous. Game is a pain to play, and not needed. Better to leave the events of Lisa the First shrouded in mystery while you play Painful and Joyful. :Owl:

yeah, its really not needed, you can't play it on windows 10 anyway

Yes you can. I could. But I couldn't care for it. Way too unpolished
