But from your response, I guess I might be over-valuing him a bit?
This isn't what you're asking, but here's some party advice for later in the game. Fly, Harvey, RT, Olan, and Birdie are gods in the mid/late game. Here's why: Fly: massive damage to all enemies Harvey and RT: OP single target debuffs(together can lock down a single target) Olan: insane survive ability with "hide". With joy his damage output is insane.
Birdie: oil (+fire). I suggest an Birdie Jack combo
"Ollie" I think you meant Birdie.
Had definitely heard of Birdie's shenanigans but not the most sure of how to best utilize that so I'll definitely pick him up but I might leave him out of the active party for now, see how things roll with my current party and switch to a Fire abuse one if it goes wrong or my favorite guys die off.
Gonna try to recruit everyone to the best of my ability but I have my concerns about getting Clint and Tiger Man due to painful recruitment and addiction issues (I get enough of that with Brad...).
You sound like you got a good plan. Honestly, there are times where Birdie makes the game a little less fun, in my eyes. You shouldn't be killing baddies quickly, it should be the other way around.
And if you're trying to get everyone, when you go through Roulette (to get Buckets), you'll get a ton of mags and Clint will be pocket change. Tiger Man is good EXP, he should be fought regardless (and hey, then you have someone for Roulette...).
And as far of what party you should have, pick who you like! Unless you're having REAL difficulty, you should be able to get through the game with any party. I insisted on keeping Queen Roger the whole time, even tho he's not that good of a party member (but he's my fave)! The optimal party is the one that works for you.
