LISA

Is Lisa The Painful very graphic?
So I finally have the money to actually buy this game, and i've heard that this game is REALLY GOOD. And i really wanna play it because judging from what i've seen it is a very very fun game to play, however i'm pretty sensitive to stuff like gore or blood or whatever, i know that this game does have blood with most of the sprites but i have only seen about 30% of actual gameplay in videos and whatnot, so are there any points in the game where it gets REALLY graphic or stuff like that in general? and if so, is there some sort of option to disable that or something? i really want to experience this game, but i'm kinda sensitive to gore and guts and stuff.

There are some parts (with the joy mutants, which you might have seen some of), that are quite graphic. I don't quite know just how sensitive you are to it, but they are quite a bit more gory than most of the game. I believe its only a few parts though and they are optional. You can't disable that unfortunately but I'd definitely give LISA a shot as the humor often lightens up the mood significantly even when there are some graphic parts. I could tell you the locations, which I believe you might find too graphic and to avoid but I dont know how much that'd help you.

As graphic as you can get with pixel-art, i suppose. Have you ever played Hotline Miami or seen a playthrough of it? Not quite as bad as that, since some stuff is played up a bit humorously. Also, while plenty bloody, it's also not as "gory" as something like Hotline Miami either.
In fact, what's implied in some encounters and story bits is often much worse than what's actually shown to the player and deliberately gut-wrenching (it is a life ruining game, after all). There's no way to turn any of that off.

It's just red colored pixels.

After looking them up, theres actually not that many. I'd say avoid the Nice Homes and Joy lab, and the Devil's truck (there's a lot of blood in there). Other than that, you should actually be fine with the other locations except maybe some minor possible trigger points. Those you won't be able to avoid though, since they're not optional to pass by.

...I mean, it's been a while- but as I recall there are times when the background looks really... innards-y, and I'm not sure those could be avoided. There's I think a couple of mid to late game bosses that have some body horror elements too.

It probably depends on how much the art style softens things for you- nothing looks like photo-realistic gore.

Hmm... well it does have very pixelated gore throughout the game. There is one uncomfortable moment in the DLC where [REDACTED] is hanging from barbed wire and despite not being gory, the whole idea of someone hanging from barbed wire is pretty uncomforting. In general I would say this game should be fine for you with a few possibly uncomfortable moments.

This is also one of my favourite games. I love the lore and I am confident that I know the entirety of it excluding who Yado is. It took a little while to wrap my head around the lore, but I think it was more of an illusion - seemed more detailed than it really is. I just don't really understand Yado.
