can you tell me the locations?
In fact, what's implied in some encounters and story bits is often much worse than what's actually shown to the player and deliberately gut-wrenching (it is a life ruining game, after all). There's no way to turn any of that off.
After looking them up, theres actually not that many. I'd say avoid the Nice Homes and Joy lab, and the Devil's truck (there's a lot of blood in there). Other than that, you should actually be fine with the other locations except maybe some minor possible trigger points. Those you won't be able to avoid though, since they're not optional to pass by.
It probably depends on how much the art style softens things for you- nothing looks like photo-realistic gore.
This is also one of my favourite games. I love the lore and I am confident that I know the entirety of it excluding who Yado is. It took a little while to wrap my head around the lore, but I think it was more of an illusion - seemed more detailed than it really is. I just don't really understand Yado.
