Lisa the First comes first.
Then Lisa the Painful.
Then Lisa the Joyful
The two games available for purchase on Steam are LISA "The Painful" and LISA "The Joyful". These are games 2 & 3, respectively.

Game 1 is Lisa "The First", which is not on steam but is free to download, just search it up online.
Lisa "The First" is made in a different, older game engine, and the second two games were kickstarted and greenlit on the strength of the first game.

In order, then:

#1 Lisa "The First", free download, google it.
#2 LISA "The Painful", buy it on Steam as LISA.
#3 LISA "The Joyful", buy it on Steam as DLC for LISA.

The one simply called LISA is Lisa the Painful. People just often add on "the Painful" to be more specific (and since its often been officially referred to as "LISA: The Painful RPG").

Playing Lisa "The First" is optional, since it just fills in a bit of backstory to two characters related to Brad, but you still get the gist of things in Lisa the Painful anyway. Play it first if you're interested, but feel free to skip it if you'd like.

You should definitely play LISA/Lisa The Painful before Joyful though, since Joyful resumes from right where Painful left off (and even the game's opening has some major spoilers as a result). Also while Joyful's listed as DLC, it's technically a separate game, just a smaller and shorter one.
