Level recommendations for the Wally's area?

I'm unsure if I'm under levelled or if I'm just bad at the game.

Brad is 21, Rooster is 17, Nern is 19, and RT is 15. I'm grinding out in the area 2 cave and it's a rather slow progress, which is quite boring :/ Is there anything else I need to do before I continue?

I died to Lil Nuggie, sadly. :c The employees and deers are giving me a bad time. Maybe the fact I'm not healing between each battle is where I'm messing up?

Nah I'm living to the deers, I just realised I'm being dumb by not healing between battles.
