Controls?!?!
I remember wanting to play this game a long time ago but I forgot about it. Reminded of it today and bought it and started playing with a controller, or tried to. The default buttons are insane, start is an attack button? I tried to change it but the actual options menu is horrible, like what does any of this mean? Button 3 is set C.... like what? Did the developers think people were going to use a Sega Genesis controller to play this? Is C my start button? Also button 6 is set to Z, because I am using a N64 controller now apparently. It would be really great if I could literally find what the actually buttons mean, I seriously can't anywhere. Maybe instead of button 1, button 2 etc, there should be something telling you what that button does. Trying to reconfigure this has been a total nightmare. Does anyone have a run down of what each button does or a good layout for a controller?

Hope this helps.

Certainly did not, didn't tell me what the buttons actually do or give me a good set up for my controller. All it said was to try it in big picture mood first. Not helpful.

Anyone? No one knows what the buttons do or have a good setup I can use?

When I played it with an X-Box controller, the WASD buttons (required for combo attacks) where mappend counter-clockwise to the four controller buttons starting from the upper one (Y or triangle). X/square or A/cross was attack, don't remember. Start was only there to enter a menu as far as I recall. Pretty similar to other RPG Maker games.

I'm guessing you are using the legacy version and I agree the default RPG Maker controller binding menu is terribly confusing. The standard version comes with its own controller configuration screen which assigns labels to buttons that should make more sense in the context of this game and also tries to start you out with a sane config to begin with if you ever used the controller in big picture mode.

If you can't run the normal version and need to use the legacy version I'd suggest using big picture mode to treat your controller as a configurable controller like the steam controller and then using one of the official or community bindings provided in the big picture overlay for the game.
