Wierd lagging/stuttering
IDK why, but the game seems to stutter/lag randomly. It shouldn't be from my Laptop, as I can run games much more intensive than this. I turned off the "Skip Frames When Slow" option as that was just annoying to not see where I am, but I'm curious is there any way to "Turn Down" the graphics or whatever. Also, does the 2nd option when starting the game(The one that says "play in legacy" or whatever) make it less intensive on my Laptop? If not, what does it do?

You might be playing this game on your intergrated card on your laptop. Try running this game using the gaming graphics card rather than your intergrated one.

You can try the legacy version, it doesn't affect the gameplay itself it only limits your configuration options, but generally the game is more CPU limited than GPU limited. It's using quite a heavy amount of scripting in some areas for RPG Maker, and the engine isn't the best at adapting to that. So if either version behaves the same the only thing you can really try is to run as little other stuff that utilizes your cpu as possible.

Daverball is right as RPG Maker can only do so much and this game is really CPU intense for an RPG Maker game. I would recommend playing this game while not having other programs on like a youtube clip or something.

To go back to my point, what I was trying to say is that some games do not run properly because some games and programs do not run your gaming graphics card as the default card. If you are using a laptop and it has a gaming graphics card, there is a very good chance it has two graphics cards, intergrated and your nvidia/amd card.

To check if your game is using the correct graphics card(assuming you have a nvidia card) ...
1. Right Click on your desktop.
2. Click on Nvidia Control Panel
3.Make sure you are on "Manage 3D settings".
4.Click on the Program Settings Tab
5.Click "Add"
6. Click "lisa"
7.Under "Select the preferred graphics processor for this program" Check if the global setting is either integrated or high performance.
8. Test the game with integrated settings and high performance. See what works better for you.

Many games work better with gaming graphics cards, but some do not. For example, The Typing of the Dead Overkill does not work with modern graphics cards for some strange reason but does work with intergated cards.

Ah, so basically it suffers from the same problem The Binding of Issac, the game engine can't handle its own awesomeness? Well then, guess I'll just have to deal with it, not a huge promblem anyways. Also, I'm pretty sure I only have one graphics card, as I don't see a Nividia Control Center thingy.

Hopefully, your game doesnt shudder too much. Having studdering during The Painful shouldn't affect gameplay, but The Joyful does recommend precise spacebar timing during battles.

hmm, well, during combat the imput does stutter, usually during the button combos, but for the most part it works, as I can just press the combos slowly.

Yeah, it doesnt matter too much when you play as Brad.

How bad is it in the DLC?
Also, I just fixed the bridge by the truck, after defeating the Hair guys, how far into the game am I?

The game? I love The Joyful. I actually have no studdering at all so I can't tell you how difficult its going to be for you, but you do need press space bar at the right time. It's kinda like doing critical hits for FF8 and 9. The timing is hard, but there is a way to make it slightly easier.

Fixing the bridge is slightly less than a 1/3 of the way through.

The Joyful had some attacks added post-release which don't rely on timing (Wild Strikes and Joker Strikes), which were added for people who couldn't manage the timed attacks. They're weaker than the damage you get if you successfully time the skills that require timing, but they'd still be better damage than constantly failing those, and should be enough to get you through the game without issue.
