PS4 Controller Help
So the defaults for attacking are bad, press Right joy and hold while moving toward a direction. Rebinding mostly doesn't work correctly though. If I change WASD attack to triangle, square, circle, and x, only triangle and circle work correctly. In the binding all of them say "space" and circle and x will duplicate what's assigned to triangle. Since the default attack is 2 buttons I tried 2 buttons. I assigned left shoulder + face buttons. This caused 3 (or 4?) face buttons to do what was assigned triangle and RIGHT shoulder to do circle. Holding and pressing didn't register. I think the first thing I need is a way to clear all the bindings that are registered. And the second thing is to figure out how to use the shoulder buttons. My controller works fine on other games, using big picture mode of course.

Where are you trying to change the bindings? Big Picture might default you to a binding that makes your controller act like a keyboard, which in turn would mess with the controller binding screen in the game.

Also on top of that the controller binding capabilities are different between the standard and legacy version, the legacy version for example won't allow you to assign the same button to multiple functions, whereas the standard version lets you assign the buttons freely.

If you want to use the in-game configuration for controller bindings I suggest making sure the big picture configuration for your controller makes the controller act as a controller and not as a keyboard.

In big picture they look correct, but the game ones seem to overwrite that, using the standard version. There is a config for Lisa, but I tried some others as well, they all seem to work for some buttons and not others, and each one just changes which button doesn't work right. The one that made it keyboard bindings worked for almost everything except D attack, but I'm not sure if that's what you are refering to. I tried to find a more overarching setting for the controller to be a controller and not a keyboard, and I read a lot of guides and I don't see anything about where to find it.

I'd maybe give disabling treating the PS4 controller as a Steam controller a shot. It's possible the game sees both the PS4 controller itself and the emulated controller Steam creates for the custom bindings.

Is that setting under Manage game > Controller Options that says "Use Steam Confirguration for Non-Steam Controller"? Turning that off makes the controller not work in game. I found a config that works though, for some reason when I scroll to Community configs it's often blank except for one time, the first time checked today. It actually showed two, and there was one by Plumbus which fixes the issues the official one by Dingaling has. Maybe you can also make that one official so that it's easier to find? Thanks for trying to help!

That is the setting I meant. Glad to hear you found a config that works for you.
