I know he's a backer, but why is he so pointless?
Not only he's hard to find, he also doesn't say anything. Is there a specific reason? Or the backer himself wanted to be a sort of secret easter egg?

That's what I would assume, yeah. It's possible they wanted him to do more, but Austin couldn't get in contact with him in time to sort out just what.
