Just finished the Shock Trooper mission as Cadar
Holy poo this was amazing! Hats-off to the designers of this mission :)

SPOILERS FOR A STORY MISSION STOP HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED.

So I bumped into the guy that gives the mission, and as a fierce Cadar loyalist I just couldn't say no. How hard could it possible be for my veteran Xeno hunting squad? So I get there, say hi to the warden, all's good until she asks me to carry an edict with Steel Song... My current rep with them: -270. Oh crap...

So I quickly check with a local prince how much the pardon would cost: 1mil... hum. My only option is to try to bump that rep up a bit until the pardon is a bit better value. I start out helping with the plague since it popped up at the same time. I also refitted my ship into a med ship, I figured this was a perfect time to try out the doc talent that increases your rep on landing to try to improve my rep with Steel Song. It was fun and worth the try but would have worked a lot better if I didn't have a dozen Listening Posts and landing talents :).

I later bump into a Steel Song judge with a somehow not atrocious personnal rep of -60. I slowly do a couple of missions for him, sweating that my time is running out with the trooper.

Luckily, it didn't :) I get the bribe down to a much more manageable 400k and nab that edict. I free the captive since he is from an allied faction, and blast my way through security (all good except for my combat medic who died. AGAIN.), and the rest is history...

Was honestly a super awesome story mission and great experience :) Is the opposing faction always Steel Song? Or does it default to the main antagonist faction? Because having to grind rep in a panic to afford the pardon and infiltrate the prison was the best thing ever, and quite thematic :)

PS: Advertising a vacant position on my ship as Combat Medic. You'll be at the front covering the snipers... EoI welcome!

Lol, this post made my night thank you. I had the pleasure of designing this mission along side one of our Kickstarter backers to create the storyline, Vytautus and his backstory. Because of that, it is always a classic Cadar 303 and Steel Song Faug Daen show down.

I'm very glad you enjoyed it, and I think perhaps Vytautus could fill the spot on your team?

If you haven't -- hope you'll consider leaving a review and telling a friend about STF!

Haha this is so mean! He survives a hellish prison to get the most suicidal spot on my assault team... Now I have to do it :D

You'll be glad to know Vytautus is now the pointman in the "Suicide Squad 303" :)

And holy cow he's a monster! I thought he'd be a smuggler or a mechanic or something but no...

I chuckled when he said "I will serve you until I die". So... two weeks then :D

I'm thinking either full rank1-2 soldier, or soldier5/medic8/commando++. Might go for that, I just love the idea of him dying in a shuttle explosion :D

PS: I've left a thumbs up and will spread the word!

He is worth the risk, the pardon, and the price of your combat medic. they don't pick weak ones for the elite 303, only the truly strong. I hope he serves you well, for however long he lasts.
