What keeps you playing?
Hello. Watching the game for a while and have a solid overview over the gameplay.

And Im very curious: What keeps you playing STF?

Because it's Science Fiction Extravaganza.

Why do I play thee, let me count the ways. The ambiance. The storylines. The depth of the history and lore. The turn-based combat systems. The paper doll feeling of setting up a new crew. The political/reputation management. The way it can be both casual and intense at the same time -- like seriously, sometimes I'm just noodling around for an hour and then a Xeno ship shows up and my heart is in my throat. The way you come to care about your captain and your crew.

A game, as an escape from reality, is only as effective as the reality it creates. With economy and precision ST:F creates a world that I'd love to live in. As long as I had my own ship. I'm tired of being a grav.

Edit: It's the closest thing I've ever found to a Firefly RPG...

I have finished every single unlock/achievement in this game and I still have not seen every single story vignette. The replayability in this game is just amazing. I still have not tried out all the builds that I want to.

Because the previous captain died and I someone has to run the family business.

The developers keep updating the game and content so the play is ever-evolving and it is just plain fun.

I love the stories that happen in my head, like the doctor who was forced onto a combat crew due to injuries, missed every shot, and then "refused" to go again. I've stopped playing 4-5 times in the 3 years, but then when there is a major content release, like small craft, I get sucked back in again.

It spurs my imagination and I feel like I am experiencing a real living universe. Now I wish there was a fantasy or cyberpunk and/or other genres versions to do the same!

Cyber
Knights
Flashpoint!

Lol it will be a very different game but we have worked on some of the similar simulation elements and really improved the ability for the story engine to weave different stories every time
