Vandal Trait? Also Driven is kind of OP
So the Vandal trait says: When boarding, +10% Dmg to enemy ship components
Anyone know if it works? I'm getting no flavor text. Also - does the vandal need to be in the boarding party or just in the crew?

Speaking of Boarding Parties look no further than the Driven Trait.
It is pretty OP - Morale can't drop lower than 50. It doesn't matter if you've been shot and patched up 10 times this crew fight you're good to go and you'll never quit the crew. Basically removies the morale mechanic from that character entirely. Perfect for your combat team.

I honestly go back and re-roll my captain if my starting doctor (or someone who could be promoted into being a doctor in my crew) doesn't have Driven. It is basically required (and thus kind of OP)

Now it's a single player game so what does being OP really matter? I'm not saying it needs to change but it is still kind of crazy.

There are lots of really power crew combat traits.

Vandal requires the character to be in the board party.

What about if the ship is at range 1 when you board? I had a message from in-game dialog that says any crew member can use their boarding talents at range 1 .... ?

That is boarding Talents, not boarding Traits. Hope that helps.

the vandal trait works sometimes weven too good as my soldier exo scout is always in crew combat so its usually about 100 dmg or 80 disabling the ship part became easy(one time i disable the hyperwarp enemy ship hull still 2000 it exploded gloriously)
edit:btw trese brothers can we get specialist gear for bonus stat or skill so 3 of my officer can have more stat/skill pint as they somehow 3 of em have device freak trait

so how does it work? It adds to the damage you do to components when you dmg them after boarding?

Yep. One of the options in boarding is to damage the component you targeted with your boarding roll. It adds damage to that roll.

Ah sounds useful but not as crazy as I imagined - later on other powers seem like a better use of your time post-boarding imo
Driven is still pretty dang good though.
