Interesting Map Seeds

Didn't see a thread on this so I thought I would kick one off. I have been using a map I call Alphaverse.

The geography on this map is kind of weird - it has a main universe, but also a kind of isolated region through some Alta Mesa quadrants. There's also a House Thulun bypass on the south side of the map. Very few dead ends, unless you count the isolated region.

One caveat I have found - you may not want to go through the Coalition Builder storyline on this map.

This has a nicely central Farfallen Rim with 2-3 indi worlds in each system around it. For the captain that wants to trade, this one has been nice as Calder.

Starting as house Zenrin, Aetaan Char is INDIE. So this is a good one if you are looking to rake in cash from ♥♥♥♥ missions but do not want to piss off another faction/grind patrols/pardon cash in order to be able to buy that faction component.

this map is error i think the indies turned to become the de valtos faction after 3rd mission

That is definitely a bug. With endless possible seeds, these types of maps show up occasionally. Something about the map is beyond the rule set we've written to select Char's faction. We just fixed an issue with the loon and the default map a week or two ago, so we just improve the rule set and we'll get this wrapped up. I will check out that map seed.

Tossing in a contribution here. As usual, after spending 15 minutes re-rolling maps (and naming them) I finally got one I liked without giving it a name.

Here's a smaller 25-system galaxy. Most of the hyperwarp jump spots aren't too spread out, so no 80-au starting flight zones (thankfully!). I thought this map was interesting since it's basically one long corridor with two branches. Wild zones seem to be more common on this map than some of the other recent ones I've made, don't know if it's because of the smaller amount of systems or this one is just good for exploration.

Confirmed as a bugged map by the dev but the opposing faction is Indies throughout for all Calagan ♥♥♥♥ missions. Includes duel of assassins era and the rest. De Valtos is the target for story missons from Zette.

My favorite map seed is st-v01-12-2-97399357

It is a small, concentrated 12 sector map that starts for Cader in the dead center of the universe and has Steel Song right next store as the ‘big bad’ of the game.

I love this because the Cader start with the ‘evil’ Steel Song is how I cut my teeth in Star Traders on the original default map.

I would love to hear from anyone who enjoys this map. It’s just a perfect start and has several free planets to sell at with trade law 1 or 2 scattered throughout the galaxy.
