hunt the hunter achievement?

i know that u have to defeat the bounty hunter when u have faen on your ship but after the first encounter it seems either faen go to hunna first then i never met him the 2nd time do i have to wonder in enemy faction quadrant?

The second fight with Zerod is not part of the Faen questline, it is for the stranded merchant Nikolai Ramius.

Is Zerod guaranteed to appear once in each storyline, no matter which order you encounter these two stories? Is there any other way he can appear, or do you have to have these two exact story lines for the achievement?

Currently, those are the only two ways he can appear. Regardless of order, you can make choices in both that lead to fights with him.

I want to unlock the Shizari Huntress. I've met Zerod during Valencia's missions but I've never met Nikolai. Is he stranded on a particular planet or do you meet him through a random event?

He'll be on a Moklumnue world.

Nikolai chain begins with a Spice Trader contact named Tuemette. She will pop up on a mok world at some point. Do her story missions before they expire.
