I've encountered several bugs with the defence and offense of your characters equipment not displaying correctly. In this screenshot you can see that my character has the sword Ehrlich yet for no reason his defence is listed as 1:

I've found the only way to fix this is to quit back to desktop then reload from a bookmark. Here it is displaying my offense normally:

I've also had this problem happen with my armour too. Quiting to desktop and reloading the bookmark usually fixes the problem but you have to keep your eye on it as often it happens unexectedly and you find yourself stuck in a fight with very little defence or offence due to the game bugging out

I can't say I've seen this happen. The only time defense or offense is deducted it's clearly stated ingame and logical (fighting unarmed or unarmored due to events for example).

Yeah it was definitely a bug in this case though. Quiting and reloading fixed it each time but it was still frustrating.

No problem. I could work around it with a quit to desktop so it wasn't a game breaker and apart from this issue I thoroughly enjoyed the game.

I come across the same issue. My offense in battle changes all the time, which sucks when it should be 4 and i get one once i start a battle ..but yes..reloading usually fixes it.

It's been a year since the last post in this thread, and the bug with Offense and/or Defense not being displayed correctly is still present

This is gonna be unbearable on the Classic difficulty, with the limited bookmarks (if the bookmarks are limited like they were in Assassin in Orlandes).

For what it's worth, this didn't happen to me in my Classic playthrough (Esplandian).

That said, I found that Steam Cloud doesn't work properly-- about to write a new post about it.

Also for what it's worth, I only ever experienced this bug when during an Amadis companion playthrough. YMMV.
