Also, I wanted to kill a captain because he kept going on killing sprees, but it says I need a hundred dollars to assassinate. Well, I have a hundred dollars so why doesn't the button light up?
The game is interesting but its a real clickfest. If you want to find your wealthy patrons you have to go to the journal, click wealthy captives, click one of them. Close the window. Click the tiny button to ransom them and then click it again. You can let them hang around and grow in value, but then there "isn't enough room for other personell" and you lose key people so that strategy sucks. Getting a hundred bucks for one captive doesn't amount to much.
And don't expect much from Assasination. It can fail.
I like the Wealthy Captive though.
Unlike Pirates with their limited money in their purse to pay for my service ,the Rich Captive add the pay to their ransom.
I like built another service area ,all highest ,and most expensive around Hotels for those rich people. They don't complain how much I charge the fee on them. They only care about the rank of service I have for them.
With those rich captives ,I don't really have need for my ships go on cruise that often.
Try looking at his purse if he has any money left ?
Maybe he doesn't have enough money to pay for your gambling service.
Just read something that got me thinking. I keep having problems with people dying off and they mentioned the people working on the docks having too much anarchy. I think of the docks as a pirate area, but there are captives working. Maybe I shouldn't have so much anarchy there. They said people would just stay on the dock until they starved to death cause there was too much anarchy outside. Maybe I also need to fire people now and then so that no one is stuck in one spot forever. These are all questions and statements.
I'm still confused about where to put decorations and what kind of decorations to use. I know I need to have a pirate area and captive area, but I also know there is some overlap. I think at some point in the game it might be a good idea to tear a lot of things down and rebuild a more ideal setup.
I purchases a lot of skeletons. I still have places that need haulers. Makes me wonder if my skeletons have been destroyed. I haven't witnessed it, but... The trouble with that is they start to get very expensive.
Did you adopt any policy? Like Random Execution?
Once in awhile I had free rum or a pirate festival. I noticed I didn't have a lot of food in the chuck tents, but that was recent. I think thats because of all the murder and because I put in a lot of farms. I may not have enough captives so a lot of farms and not enough people to man them = food shortage. I need to play again to see how this situation develops.
I think in Tropico and Pirate Cove the developers struggling to get things working. Things are much better developed later.
boneyards give you labour force that dont mind anargy use them.
Your island must be layered coastal area's are for pirates and the centre for prisoners where low lev pirattes make sure pp are scared to reduce revolt risk. Your boneyard also makes less need for food shacks and that enables you to produce more rations. So thats some tips on isle. Now raids: scary boneless pirattes will hate you send them on a risky raid give them option to just shoot in battle, your courages guys will love to enter (more risky) so it these guys you want to train best, aye youll loose many but they fill your boneyard, In short there is more depth in the game as you might think dont think big, think efficient. wealthy prisoners is away to get rich, its also a way too loose your isle quick. The longer they on your isle the more info they can gain and selling them with your isle's info will result in an invasion. Grew quick and got lots off pirattes and big ships your man will be pissed all the time no matter service you offer they demand a pirate replublic. Easy setting often give a harder game later due too overpopulation ;)
I usually leave them wandering my Island until they have 6-10k ransom price if I'm not in hurry to get money.
I have never been discovered from demanding ransom before ,seriously.
But if you are worried about that , You can Adopt ' Loose Lip ' Policy for cheap price.
