playing Tropico 2: Pirate Cove ok it starts when it goes to pirates cove it boots me to windows.it says Tropico 2: Pirate Cove stop wotking is there a fix..

I get in to the game, start the campagin and then the game just closes itself.

my game would load menul, but crash at game loading screen as well, but got it running on my older gaming laptop which is a Asus G73s, i've read that it might be your GPU doest have the lower specs as 16-bit color for the compatiabilty mode. btw my older laptop is running win 10 and i applied the 1.2 patch and a no-cd key crack

This happened to me yesterday, I went into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Tropico 2 and ran it in safe mode.

(I think on my other rig I was able to use the compatibility troubleshooter, but it didnt work on my new PC). Might be worth a shot if you are not able to get the game to run using Safe Mode.

Whenever I try to boot the game in safe mode the game will start up but everything will be completely black besides the cursor and I am able to play the game.

I've tried applying the patch and done a no-cd key crack as well as every other fix I could find (even tried a GOG version of the game with the same problems).

Does anyone have a solid fix to get this game working. I'm not even sure if its worth the effort to play the game, but now I just want to find out if I can get it working more than I really want to play it.

edit ini., file in folder and set software to 1 instead of 0 and change sound to 1 instead of 2

well didnt help i got same black screen i hear the music and i see my mouse...dont look like im going get to play this title...

did you change the games resolution? i had something like this happen to me when i tried to up the resolution. i can only run the game on the left 3 res options or it will crash.
