VRC PRO
Still Subscription needed?
Hi Devs, will the 39$ version still need a subscription? Or is it like an "extended" F2P version, wich a buy-in with more cars and tracks etc?

Or asked different: what´s the difference between this paid version and the f2p version frpm your website? Plus, what benefits does a subscription have?

Looking forward for this game, as my rc cars went fast out of batteries, and so full of dust...

No subscription needed :-)

You simply get an 'extended f2p package' with practically everything you need to have fun and compete online. The benefits of the Steam version compared to f2p are:

✓ more cars
✓ faster cars (higher performance)
✓ cars with full setup options
✓ many more tracks
✓ more exciting, world-class tracks

I am confused about the store page details. It says the game contains 21 cars and 67 tracks, then underneath that it says the Pro package only has 15 cars and less tracks. How can this be, please?

VRC PRO is an on-going project, new cars and tracks are added continuously. Therefore, our business model was originally subscription-based aimed at rc racers who would get all cars and all tracks at a monthly payment. However, subscription is probably not very convenient for most regular gamers, so we had to come up with a solution.

We designed a game license with a package that would contain everything you need to really enjoy this game and to compete online. That explains the VRC PRO Standard license, which has most cars and many great world-class tracks. The rest of the cars and tracks will be part of the Deluxe expansion pack and maybe other expansion packs if more tracks and cars are added in the future.

Thank you for the explanation. The store page should not say 21 cars and 67 tracks if you cannot currently get all of that through Steam, then. It is misleading. It makes it sound like if you buy this game you are advertising right now, you will get all that stuff.

So what if I wanted a subscription? What do I get with that? I used to race RC Cars I wasn't very good and it wasn't at a high level or anything but I had a lot of fun doing it. I put a ton of money into it too. This would be awsome to get back into. who knows I maybe better playing the video game lol

one more thing are the Losi trucks in this game? PLEASE say yes! And I would be willing to acutally buy a remote if it works with my computer. I know they have them I think.... I remember looking into this game a while back I think

I'm assuming it has always-online DRM, seeing as it's "F2P"?

They'll be different classes, scales or something, stuff you'd never race side by side with the other content.

I havent touched VRC since about 1yr after the initial version version had its beta, when there was only nitro/gas power on-road cars (1:8 & 1:10). I think that was mid-2004.

@Tim, was it you or Pieter i met at Turin for the elec worlds in '06? Pretty sure you were both at the UK expo with the West brothers (iirc, if it is them) before the beta went up. Glad to see things are still going, seems like theres a significant amount of progress made. Might give the free version a go and dig out my handset & usb dongle, those are the only things i ever kept since i stopped racing in '06 :D
