My thought is to have a leveling system in place for each toon. At level 1 you get greens, only. Then as you play and win battles, you unlock cards and power ups. I could see the type restriction being adjusted in some way as well.

Coal cracker/water flask combo just keeps getting rerolls and next thing you know the guy is hitting you with 1800+ attack and has 500+ shield in the first round. And now it seems that is all i am running into late game. Coal Cracker allows you to exhaust 2 GEM symbols on a jackpot roll and get a reroll. Water flask gets you a GEM symbol every 2 rolls. Stuck on "Authenticating" screen. Waited a lot, nothing happened.

Checking to see if this is a thing that's actually happening, or just statistics and apophenia: It feels a lot like the more of a symbol you have, the less likely it is to show up in the shop. Every time I try to lean into a synergy, it seems to become harder and harder to actually do so, which... it's kinda' miserable?
