Because English VA have been going on strike against voicing games since 2024 and getting contracts is difficult so many companies aren't doing it.

Mica is too lazy and the playerbase generally doesn't care about English VO. Meanwhile there would be riots if EN didn't feature Japanese VO's in this .. Chinese game. 😬

English VAs are not on strike, American VAs are on strike. Games that hired non-American VAs don't have this issue. Mica is a Chinese company literally on the other side of Earth and x4 the size. While this doesn't strictly speaking contradict your comment because the strike does indeed decrease the amount of companies for hire, i thought i'd mention the distinction. For example Wuthering Waves uses British VA's, who, surprisingly, also speak English. :)

Mica should get their stuff together, and not hire Americans, it would probably be better for everyone involved actually, and if they aren't doing it, it's a "them" problem.

I don't have positive opinions on most American VAs in anime industry, I prefer original VAs.

This confuses me. Because I always thought that the JP voices were the original. But then I got reminded in this thread that it's a CN company, so CN should be the original voices. So if you're playing in JP, you're playing dubbed, and then the English Dub would be equivalent to the JP Dub if CN is the original and you prefer the original. But I'm 90% sure the game defaulted to JP Voices so is it actually a Chinese game with JP Voices but dubbed into CN and KR???

I need Leva to hold me.

I do like the JP VAs, never heard the KR VAs, I just don't like most American VAs, I prefer the original dub in pretty much almost everything because it makes scenes/playthroughs feel more raw than forced. Sure it's bit annoying to read the subs while watching/playing but I had been doing that for decades so not much to complain :lunar2019crylaughingpig: It was defaulted to CN for me.

Lol I'm all for subs over dub's in 90% of cases the major exception being if I'm using the show as background noise. Games I always go for the original VAs, I didn't realize that it was originally CN for GFL, but I'm already used to the JP voices, I'll have to try CN.

Actually, just like many other anime games, JP voice is considered as "original" voice even for many CN anime games. It is because target demographic is so used to hear JP voices for a very long time that when they hear voicelines in their native language, they feel weird or even embarrassed.

That being said, JP, KR, and CN voices are all different (after all, they are different languages.)

should be english sub option but dubs arent likely as the NA voice actors for anime and games have been protesting for a long time and many of them have been blacklisted likely for wrong think and or wanting full time money and benfits for what amounts to a part time job.

SInce Mica is focusing much more on global i think they would do en va but maybe very long down the line since there's still so much to do. while i prefer jp I wouldn't mine EN dub as long the direction is good (Like reverse 1999) though if they did do it they probably should follow the Arknights route of implementing it slowly and surely.

Personally i wish all the dolls spoke their native languages with regards to either their personal or weapon history. But then you would need a LOT of Ukrainian VAs

Man that would be cool, like Girls Und Panzer when the girls speak in their school languages from time to time.

There is an English language option, it's called subtitles.. also; all American women sound the same.
