I wouldn't completely rule it out in the story but I wouldn't expect it either. If it happens it will probably be the exception not the rule.
Pretty much all of its story beats really put into account that you understood at least the bare bone basic gist and minimum plot rundown of IOP-verse (excluding Reverse Collapse: Code Bakery, since that is a future event in IOP-verse). That, and put effort in reading the Classified and Remastered records. It talked a lot about the settings during the 10 year gaps and what happened in between.
(Colphee and Nemesis and Krolik are highly probable to be future plot points due to their past and probably will be delved on beyond chapter 6. Especially Nemesis and Krolik)
And as much as Sunborn insisted that the story of GFL2-verse is sufficiently independent without GFL lore knowledge, I would call that as a load of bull. Minimum knowledge might help people curious enough, but zero knowledge will confuse people.
But anyway, all I can say is that probably seek the lore videos and dive right into the IOP rabbit hole
Wow. Super shocking.
Might as well just play xcom with anime girl mods honestly. I was looking forward to this but I guess not.
